Position OverviewInternational Motors is seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Senior Engineer to lead the development, validation, and continuous improvement of innovative commercial vehicle systems and technologies. This role will work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supplier, and product development teams to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions that support International's commitment to customer success and operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Lead engineering projects from concept through design, development, validation, and product launch.
- Develop and evaluate engineering solutions for vehicle systems, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams, manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Execute engineering work with a high degree of independence, operating from general direction on routine tasks and more detailed guidance on new or complex assignments
- Analyze technical requirements and translate them into detailed engineering specifications.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product and process issues.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality processes.
- Support product testing, validation, and verification activities.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, technical documentation, and design changes.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across project teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost reduction, reliability, and performance.
- Participate in customer meetings, supplier reviews, and cross-functional design reviews.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and at least 1 year of product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
- Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
Additional Requirements- Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills- Strong experience in truck and/or automotive design and development processes (highly preferred)
- Experience within the commercial vehicle, heavy-duty truck, or automotive industry
- Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, APQP, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience working with global engineering teams and suppliers
- Background in engineering design release processes (highly preferred)
- Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling software (any platform)
- Experience in structural design for light and/or heavy commercial vehicle chassis components
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes including metal forming, stamping, and casting
- Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Six Sigma, and Lean principles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering formal presentations
- Experience developing and executing DFMEA, DRD, and DVP documentation
- Ability to review engineering designs for completeness, accuracy, and manufacturability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- Exposure to mechatronics systems is a plus
