  • Develop and review key design deliverables, including:
    • One-line diagrams and three-line diagrams
    • AC and DC system layouts
    • Equipment specifications (battery systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear)
    • Grounding, protection, and control schemes
  • Define system architecture (DC-coupled vs. AC-coupled configurations)

Power Systems & Interconnection

  • Support interconnection processes and utility coordination
  • Review and interpret system impact studies and facility studies
  • Coordinate or perform studies such as:
    • Load flow
    • Short circuit
    • Protection coordination
    • Harmonic analysis
  • Ensure compliance with utility and ISO/RTO requirements (e.g., CAISO, WECC)

Multi-Discipline Coordination

    • Site layout and grading constraints
    • Equipment foundations and trenching
    • High-voltage interconnection design
  • Interface with OEM vendors (battery suppliers, inverter manufacturers)

Project Delivery

  • Support project lifecycle from development through IFC (Issued for Construction) design
  • Prepare engineering packages, drawings, and technical reports
  • Support procurement by developing technical specifications and evaluating bids
  • Assist in project scheduling, cost estimating, and risk identification

Construction & Commissioning Support

  • Respond to RFIs and support field engineering during construction
  • Review shop drawings and vendor submittals
  • Support commissioning activities and system energization

Client Interface

  • Serve as a technical lead in client meetings and design reviews
  • Support proposals, scope development, and level-of-effort estimates
  • Provide technical guidance to clients on BESS technologies and design decisions
