Full Job Description
Position: Senior Electrical Hardware Core/Architecture Engineer

Position: Senior Electrical Hardware Core / Architecture Engineer

About the Role:

This position serves as a senior technical authority for electrical hardware architecture and circuit design, supporting high-volume EPS control modules from concept through production. The Electrical Hardware Core / Architecture Engineer independently leads complex technical investigations, defines robust electrical architectures, and ensures designs meet functional, performance, diagnostic, and reliability requirements across all operating conditions.

The role interfaces closely with Systems, Software, Motor Controls, EMC, and Manufacturing teams and plays a critical part in technical decision-making, root cause resolution, and mentoring of engineering staff.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical Hardware Core / Architecture Engineer, you will be responsible to:

Electrical Architecture & Design
  • Serve as the electrical hardware senior engineer ensuring proposed architectures, schematics, and component selections align with customer, system, and internal requirements.
  • Develop new electrical schematics for high-volume EPS applications by creating standardized core circuit blocks (e.g., battery protection and filtering, motor position sensing, bulk capacitance, and gate drive architectures).
  • Create and maintain circuit analysis and design documentation tailored to specific use cases and customer requirements.
  • Review PCB layouts and provide detailed feedback to ensure signal integrity, power integrity, EMI robustness, and manufacturability.

Validation, Test, and Root Cause
  • Develop, execute, and peer-review detailed circuit-level test plans; assess results for completeness, accuracy, and robustness.
  • Support development and transfer of End-of-Line (EOL) functional test specifications.
  • Perform ECU failure analysis and lead root-cause investigations across hardware, software, EMC, and system interactions.
  • Verify electrical designs across normal, transient, and fault conditions to ensure robust functional and diagnostic behavior.

Cross-Functional Technical Leadership
  • Lead schematic reviews and architecture discussions.
  • Interface with Software, Motor Controls, Sensors, Systems, and EMC teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support DFMEA activities by identifying risks, defining mitigations, and verifying effectiveness.

Innovation & Enablement
  • Support electrical hardware technology roadmap initiatives.
  • Develop scripts, software tools, or analytical methods to accelerate hardware debug, v

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in analog and digital electronic design, validation, and debug, ideally within automotive or other safety-critical systems.
  • Strong hands-on laboratory experience using standard electronic test equipment.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Mentor Xpedition or equivalent).
  • Experience with circuit simulation and analysis tools (e.g., PSpice, Multisim).
  • Strong understanding of circuit margins, robustness, and power electronics behavior.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Experience with motor drive or power electronics systems preferred.
  • Experience developing scripts or software tools to support hardware validation and debug preferred.
  • Prior experience mentoring engineers or serving as a technical lead preferred.
