Full Job Description
The Senior Estimator plays a critical leadership role within Enterprise Electrical's Estimating Department, responsible for developing accurate, competitive, and profitable electrical estimates across a wide range of commercial, Industrial and design-build projects. This position oversees estimating activities, supports junior estimators, and partners closely with senior leadership to drive strategic bidding decisions.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Develop accurate, competitive, and profitable takeoff bid proposals for projects ranging from simple to highly complex.
• Review RFQs, RFPs, and bid invitations to assess scope, risk, and feasibility.
• Manage estimating processes, schedules, and timelines to meet short-term and long-term company objectives.
• Communicate directly with customers to define project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing, and build long-term relationships.
• Plan and organize work activities efficiently while developing realistic action plans.
• Prepare contractual exhibits, scope letters, and supporting bid documentation.
• Conduct internal estimate reviews and validation meetings.
• Develop, document, and apply logical assumptions during conceptual estimating activities.
• Participate in project turnover and kickoff meetings when required.
• Provide analytical summaries, cost breakdowns, and recommendations to senior leadership to support decision-making.
• Attend job walks and report critical differences in drawings, specifications, and bid requirements.
• Develop and deliver estimating training and mentorship to estimators as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality of estimating data, pricing strategies, and company information.
• Track bid results, update estimate logs, and follow up with the clients.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support department and company needs.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills

Required:
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the electrical construction industry.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing and mentoring estimators and junior estimators.
• Proficiency with estimating software including Accubid and LiveCount.
• Ability to interpret computerized cost data and estimating systems.
• Proven ability to produce accurate cost estimates, takeoffs, and proposals with minimal errors.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain estimates and negotiate contracts effectively.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Awareness of current market conditions, including labor rates and material cost fluctuations.

Preferred:
• Journeyman's License with hands on field experience, especially layout experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in construction science, electrical engineering, or related fields.
• Experience using Accubid software.
• Familiarity with local labor rates, material pricing, and commercial market conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to unexpected challenges.

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements
• Primarily office-based with periodic travel to job sites for job walks and project reviews.
• Must be able to review construction drawings and specifications for extended periods.
• Occasional extended hours may be required to meet bid deadlines.
