Senior Electrical Engineering Manager

Position Overview

Bath Engineering is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams supporting industrial power distribution, utility infrastructure, substation, and process facility projects.

This role combines technical leadership, project execution oversight, client relationship management, and team development across multiple engineering programs and project environments.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering leader who is comfortable supporting both office and field activities, managing multidisciplinary teams, and driving practical engineering solutions for active industrial and utility facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering teams supporting industrial, utility, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
  • Manage engineering execution, staffing, schedules, budgets, resource planning, and technical quality across multiple projects.
  • Oversee engineering deliverables from FEL studies and conceptual design through detailed engineering, IFC packages, construction support, and commissioning.
  • Lead electrical engineering design for low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems, including 480V, 5kV, 15kV, 25kV, 34.5kV, and 138kV systems.
  • Support and oversee substation design, coordination studies, grounding systems, protective relaying, MCC systems, and power distribution infrastructure.
  • Oversee engineering calculations and studies, including load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies, using SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar software.
  • Review and approve one-line diagrams, electrical plans, equipment layouts, conduit layouts, cable schedules, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors to review equipment specifications, technical requirements, and procurement support activities.
  • Lead field investigations, site walkdowns, existing condition assessments, and brownfield retrofit evaluations.
  • Support retrofit, modernization, and expansion projects in active operating facilities.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams including electrical, instrumentation, controls, mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines.
  • Lead client meetings and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support proposal development, scope definition, engineering estimates, project planning, and business development activities.
  • Review contractor submittals and support RFI responses during construction phases.
  • Provide engineering leadership during construction support, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and field coordination activities.
  • Mentor engineers and designers and support technical development and career growth within the engineering organization.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, engineering standards development, and quality assurance efforts.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, project records, reports, and technical files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in industrial electrical engineering, utility infrastructure, consulting engineering, or related industries.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing engineering teams, departments, or multidisciplinary project execution.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial power systems, substations, utility infrastructure, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Experience with medium- and high-voltage systems including substations and protective relaying preferred.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, API, and related engineering standards.
  • Proficiency with SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, or similar engineering software preferred.
  • Experience with SEL relay systems and coordination studies preferred.
  • Experience supporting brownfield retrofit projects, field investigations, and construction support activities.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • NCEES Record preferred to support multi-state reciprocity and licensing.
