Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical | Denver, COIMEG is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer in Denver, CO, to lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer on complex projects. This role focuses on engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings, with opportunities to support Mission Critical and Data Center-focused work.
You will work closely with engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and client advice while supporting project budgets, mentoring efforts, and cross-functional coordination. You will also contribute across the team's MEP portfolio, advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do- Be a critical team member on advanced mission critical and data center projects.
- Lead design efforts for electrical systems on moderate to complex projects, creating designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards
- Perform site assessments and prepare detailed analysis and technical reports
- Work with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, communicate technical information effectively, and build client relationships through professional communication
- Review electrical system designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence during design development
- Implement IMEG quality control processes to help ensure designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards, and client requirements
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff
- Provide technical assistance in resolving field issues with limited support from senior staff
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work and help identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals
- Participate in project interviews and project presentations
What You'll BringRequiredEducation and Experience- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 7 years of experience minimum required, 8 preferred, in the building design consulting industry; experience in mission critical and/or data center projects required
Skills and Abilities- Advanced proficiency in mission critical and data center market specific expertise including system redundancy design methods, concurrent maintainability design methods, medium voltage design, high-density compute power methodologies, mission critical grounding systems, component design for generators, UPS systems, ATS/STS systems and EPMS systems.
- Adept in the technical aspects of one's discipline; advanced proficiency in technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles of circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems
- Advanced proficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Knowledge of codes and standards such as IES, IEEE, NFPA, ICC, ASHRAE and broad familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier guidelines.
- Advanced proficiency of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS; Proficient with Adobe or Bluebeam Revu
- Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Strong training and mentoring skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 30% with occasional overnight stays
About the Team- Work with IMEG's mission critical and data center team on the latest technologies, pushing the boundaries for compute densities, in both commercial and institutional locations.
- Additional markets worked on out of the IMEG Denver office include: science & technology, commercial, resort/hospitality, civic, mixed-use, sports & recreation, and high performance sustainability projects.

State of Colorado Salary Range: $120,000 to $195,000 per year
The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.
Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
