ABOUT THE TEAMThe Hardware Platform Organization is Anduril's central hardware engineering org. We build the shared technologies, tools, and infrastructure that power hardware development across every Anduril division, from actuators and propulsion to batteries, avionics, rocket motors, and test operations. Our teams set engineering standards, run development manufacturing and test sites, and develop core technology products that ship across multiple product lines.
ABOUT THE JOBWe are looking for Senior Electrical Engineers to join our rapidly growing Hardware Platform organization, supporting defense hardware development across propulsion and weapons systems programs
Propulsion: Develop and test cutting edge electronics for propulsion system. We are looking for a self-starter with deep technical experience in defense or aerospace hardware development to apply these skills in propulsion flight controllers, power electronics, high-efficiency motor controllers, and electromagnetic actuators.
ESAD: Develop fuzing circuitry for missile systems, closely collaborate with vehicle development teams to design, document, and produce tailored fuzing systems and effectors. Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses that connect electronic equipment within the vehicle.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Own full-cycle PCB design for high-reliability defense hardware - from requirements capture and schematic design through component selection, layout (Altium preferred), bring-up, test, debug, and system integration - while setting the technical standard for execution across the team
- Architect and optimize circuit solutions for safety-critical aerospace and defense applications, including power electronics, motor/actuator drivers, digital control systems, fuzing circuitry, or vehicle interconnect - depending on program focus
- Drive rigorous design analysis across programs: worst-case analysis (WCA), thermal analysis, DFMEA, component derating, and signal/power integrity analysis to ensure reliability across extreme vibration and temperature environments
- Define test strategies and lead Design Verification Testing (DVT), qualification testing, and functional testing from board bring-up through ground and flight test
- Develop system interconnect diagrams and define wire harnesses, with an eye toward integration complexity and scalability across vehicle variants
- Serve as a technical authority across mechanical, thermal, software, systems, quality, and manufacturing teams - driving alignment on cross-discipline tradeoffs throughout development
- Lead and facilitate peer-level and cross-discipline design reviews; provide substantive technical feedback that shapes design decisions
- Lead root cause and failure analysis in support of ground test and field operations, and drive corrective action across teams
- Define vendor evaluation criteria and lead sourcing decisions for critical electrical components and subsystems
- Mentor and technically guide junior and mid-level engineers on design methodology, analysis rigor, and test approach
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent,
- 8+ years of experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting complex PCB designs, with demonstrated depth in at least one domain relevant to defense or aerospace hardware
- Deep expertise in analog, digital, and power electronics, with a track record of delivering hardware in challenging environments
- Expert proficiency with electronic CAD tools (Altium Designer strongly preferred)
- Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (LTSpice or equivalent) and experience applying simulation to validate designs before hardware build
- Strong competence with lab test equipment and test automation; experience designing or directing structured DVT and qualification campaigns
- Deep familiarity with standard interfaces including CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB, and PCIe, and experience with MCU, CPU, and FPGA-based architectures
- Demonstrated experience designing for signal integrity and power integrity in high-reliability environments
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance, or DOE L/Q
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in defense, aerospace, UAS, missile, or maritime hardware development
- Experience with propulsion electronics: motor controllers, power distribution/conversion, flight controller circuits, or electromagnetic actuators
- Experience with fuzing, ordnance, or other safety-critical weapon systems electronics
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-1316, MIL-STD-882E, MIL-STD-2105, or DoD Weapons Safety Board processes
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for control loop modeling or system simulation
- Familiarity with avionics design standards: DO-254, DO-178C, DO-160
- Experience scaling electronics designs to production volume, including DFM/DFT considerations
- Track record of mentoring engineers and shaping technical practices at the team or program level
