  • Provide technical guidance for PCB layout of switching power supplies, charging circuits, high-current paths, sensitive analog signals, grounding, and power integrity.
Design Integration and Product Development
  • Translate product and system requirements into battery and power subsystem designs.
  • Integrate battery, charging, power-management, protection, and sensing functions with the overall product electrical architecture.
  • Work closely with embedded software engineers on charger control, fuel gauging, battery-management interfaces, power states, fault handling, and system behavior.
  • Support electrical interfaces using protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, USB, and other embedded interfaces as required.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering on battery-pack integration, connector selection, thermal considerations, mechanical constraints, and custom battery-pack development.
  • Collaborate with EMC, Safety, Reliability, and Compliance engineers to ensure designs meet product and regulatory requirements.
Bring-Up, Debug, and Engineering Analysis
  • Perform board bring-up, characterization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of battery and power-related issues.
  • Characterize charging behavior, power conversion efficiency, current consumption, startup and shutdown behavior, transient response, battery runtime, and system power states.
  • Evaluate formal verification and validation results and drive technical resolution of design issues.
  • Investigate complex hardware, firmware, battery, supplier, and system-level interactions.
  • Use laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, electronic loads, precision power analyzers, power supplies, multimeters, current probes, and related instrumentation.
  • Develop scripts, tools, or automated methods where appropriate to improve design characterization and engineering analysis.
Supplier and Manufacturing Collaboration
  • Work directly with battery-cell, battery-pack, charger IC, fuel-gauge, power-management IC, and other technology suppliers.
  • Support technical evaluation and qualification of new components and technologies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on custom battery-pack and power-system design solutions.
  • Review supplier data, characterization results, design recommendations, and technical roadmaps.
  • Support contract manufacturers and development partners through prototype builds, design validation, production introduction, and post-production issue resolution.
Technology Development and Engineering Excellence
