Job SummaryTYLin is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing Aviation team in Parsippany, NJ. This role is an excellent opportunity for an electrical engineering professional with established experience to contribute to complex aviation infrastructure projects and play a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of utility relocation work within an active airport environment.
The successful candidate will bring strong electrical engineering expertise, an understanding of utility infrastructure, and the ability to coordinate effectively with utility companies, airport stakeholders, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities & QualificationsWhat You’ll Do
- Lead and support the planning, design, and implementation of electrical utility relocation projects within a complex airport environment.
- Coordinate utility relocation activities with airport stakeholders, utility companies, contractors, and other project partners.
- Evaluate existing electrical utility infrastructure and develop practical approaches for relocation, modification, protection, and integration.
- Coordinate with utility providers to understand existing infrastructure, service requirements, relocation constraints, and proposed utility connections.
- Lead technical discussions with utility companies and help resolve conflicts between existing utilities and proposed airport improvements.
- Prepare and review electrical engineering plans, specifications, calculations, reports, and technical documentation.
- Work closely with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to coordinate utility infrastructure within multidisciplinary project designs.
- Support the development of construction documents and provide technical support during construction.
- Identify potential utility conflicts and develop solutions that maintain project schedules and minimize disruption to ongoing airport operations.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance to clients, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Mentor less-experienced engineers and contribute to the continued development of TYLin's aviation electrical engineering capabilities.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience with electrical utilities, utility relocation, or infrastructure projects; airport or aviation experience is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with utility companies and service providers on complex infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of electrical distribution systems, utility infrastructure, and the challenges associated with relocating existing utilities.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within project schedules.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred, but not required.
Additional InformationTYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of$120,000 - $170,000 annually for this position and local market.
