Job OverviewThe Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports project teams in maintaining safe, compliant, and injury-free work environments across Skanska USA Building projects. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this role provides technical assistance, conducts site inspections, and promotes safety awareness while ensuring adherence to corporate, local, and federal occupational health and safety regulations.
As a key member of the Safety Department, the Senior EHS Coordinator administers elements of the EHS program, assists with incident investigations, maintains safety documentation, and delivers field training. The role also supports hazard identification and control, fosters Skanska's Injury-Free Environment (IFE) culture, and contributes to continuous improvement of safety practices.
This position is ideal for professionals with construction safety experience who are ready to take on greater responsibility in program administration, compliance monitoring, and team support. Must have NFPA certification.
Senior EHS Coordinator Required Qualifications:- 2+ years of experience in a role assigned to the identification of safety hazards and recommending appropriate controls
- 2+ years of experience in a safety role that required communication with employees at all levels in a construction environment
- Strong written communication skills
- Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, safety management, engineering, or equivalent or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 3 years prior relevant safety experience.
