Raymour & Flanigan Information Technology department is looking for a Senior Network Engineer. As a member of the Network & Telecom team, this person is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise in telecommunications functions such as network design, engineering, implementation, integration, and end user support, and for independently resolving the most complex escalations. Candidate will evaluate needs, collaborate with partners, architect and support solutions, and lead project-level design efforts with minimal oversight. Will serve as a senior escalation point and mentor for all telecommunications equipment and applications including Core Networking hardware, LAN/WAN TCP/IP Routing and switching, VOIP, PBX, voice mail, wireless technology.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Advanced knowledge and experience working on core Data Center, WAN and LAN design, wireless technologies, advanced IP telephony and network management
- Advanced knowledge and experience of design, implementation and troubleshooting of TCP/IP routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS and EIGRP
- Experience designing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining networks built using Layer2 and Layer 3 infrastructure protocols (VLANs, STP, VxLAN, LACP, VRRP, MLAG, MPLS, LDP, SD-WAN, IPv4, IPv6)
- Experience evaluating and implementing network monitoring tools such as LogicMonitor, WhatsUpGold, SolarWinds and provide key performance metrics in this area
- Experience configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining Fortinet FortiGate SD-WAN appliances, Cisco, Juniper, and HPE routers/switches, Mist, Aruba and Aerohive Wi-Fi, F5 load balancers, Fortinet firewalls, Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure, AWS Cloud computing
- Experience with Wi-Fi network design and deployment using tools such as Ekahau Sidekick, Ekahau Analyzer and Ekahau AI Pro
- Experience with authentication tools and services such as RADIUS, TACACS, and Clearpass
- Experience with 802.1x network authentication protocol design, implementation and support
- Understanding of application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, NTP, T/S/FTP, HTTP, SMTP, LDAP, and Microsoft AD)
- Candidate will be a senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) in supporting these tools/devices/applications/protocols and others in both theoretical and practical environments, and will be looked to first when other engineers are unable to resolve an issue
- Ability to perform protocol level analysis and provide guidance on Network Management, Security, Planning, Traffic Engineering and Implementation
- Technical experience working with VPN technologies (IPSEC, SSL VPN, WebVPN, AnyConnect, DMVPN, etc.)
- Proven experience with VOIP telephony systems in both retail and call center environments
- Work with Managed Service Providers/Carriers and provide oversight for Service Level Agreement adherence, perform troubleshooting and support MACD
- Design, Implement and Maintain a highly available and scalable network environment, leading project-level design efforts spanning multiple sites or systems
- Develop and execute mitigation plans for advanced technical issues, including issues escalated from other Network Engineers
- Provide oversight of change management Statements of Work and Plan of Record and serve as a senior department decision maker and SME on the Change Activities Board
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to Network Engineers and other IT staff, reviewing designs and troubleshooting approaches
- Must participate in on-call rotation for after-hours outages. This position is expected to be generally available for escalations from team members or management.
Qualifications:- B.S. in a technical field (Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Administration, Information Technology, etc.) or a relevant combination of education and experience
- 7+ years of expertise in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications, with at least 2 years operating at a senior scope
- Proven track record of independently solving enterprise-scale problems under intense pressure while maintaining composure and discipline
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-departmental engineering and troubleshooting exercises with a positive, constructive attitude. Ability to recognize and balance the needs of the team, identification of the true scope of a problem and an appropriate sense of urgency and creativity in resolving the issue
- Demonstrated experience mentoring other network engineers and leading project-level design work
- CCNP or comparable industry certification desired; CCNA or equivalent required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
