This includes global Fabrics supporting our newest AI infrastructure, core backbone networks, optical systems, and colocation footprints.
Partner with the bestAs a Senior Network Delivery Architect in Network Platform Planning, you will hold unified accountability for translating high-level platform strategies into executable infrastructure deployment plans. Operating with global scope while leveraging deep technical and regional territory knowledge, you will manage cross-team dependencies and cross-functional partnerships to deliver metro-level resiliency, redundancy, and scalable growth for Akamai's global platform.
As a Senior Network Delivery Architect, you will be responsible for:
- Managing strategic capacity planning and lifecycle processes for global physical infrastructure layers, encompassing network fabrics, core backbone networks, and optical systems.
- Leading global colocation planning, evaluating site readiness (power, space, liquid cooling, connectivity) for new space or expansion, and managing comprehensive colocation exit workflows.
- Overseeing core platform project planning across product type and locations, prioritizing execution, coordinating dependencies, and managing timelines to meet high velocity business objectives.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve problems and improve efficiency in the network.
Do what you loveTo be successful in this role you will:
- Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
- Possess expertise in internet architecture, optical transport systems, high-density fabric switching, metro routing, and colocation infrastructure standards like liquid-to-chip cooling.
- Be able to analyze data, provide actionable solutions and thought leadership to internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate experience leading projects with an ability to communicate risks and manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Be curious, and able to learn technical concepts and communicate them to a range of audiences.
- Be able to communicate clearly with people across the business.
CompensationAkamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $112,500 - $202,500/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
