Full Job Description
Cloudbreak Energy is seeking a Senior Director of Asset Management to build and lead our Asset Management function. This pivotal role will oversee the operational performance, safety, and long-term value creation of Cloudbreak's growing asset base, beginning with a portfolio of 20+ distributed-generation solar projects in Colorado and Maryland.

A key early responsibility will be negotiating O&M contracts and establishing a best-in-class framework for asset performance monitoring, event response, reporting, and investor communications. This role will shape the systems, processes, and team structure required to scale Cloudbreak's asset management capabilities using a combination of internal resources and external contractors. This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly organized leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building functions from the ground up, while also being comfortable with detail-oriented work and executing with a small team.

O&M & Vendor Management
  • Lead the negotiation, structuring, and execution of O&M agreements for the initial 20+-asset solar
portfolio and all of Cloudbreak's future solar, solar + BESS, and standalone BESS assets.
  • Manage relationships with O&M providers, monitoring vendors, and field service contractors.
  • Establish performance KPIs, escalation pathways, and service-level expectations.
  • Oversee contract compliance and performance improvement initiatives.

Asset Performance & Monitoring
  • Design and implement the systems, tools, and processes for real-time asset monitoring, event
    detection, and resolution tracking.
  • Establish standards for response times, troubleshooting workflows, and operational reporting.
  • Build dashboards and reporting structures to ensure transparency across operations, finance, and
    executive teams.

Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance at operating sites.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for site access, contractor oversight, incident response, and regulatory
    requirements.
  • Lead periodic audits of operational performance and safety adherence.

Investor & Stakeholder Reporting
  • Prepare recurring financial, operational, and performance reports for investors and internal
    leadership.
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for investors, lenders, and project partners.
  • Manage annual budgets, production forecasts, and performance benchmarking.

Organizational Build-Out
  • Develop the long-term vision and structure of Cloudbreak's asset management function.
  • Determine the optimal balance of internal staff and external contractors to support a growing
    portfolio.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead asset management personnel as the team scales.

Requirements
  • 7-10+ years of experience in renewable energy asset management, engineering, solar operations, energy infrastructure, or related fields.
  • Proven experience negotiating O&M contracts and managing contractor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV and battery plant operations, monitoring platforms, and performance analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement systems, processes, and organizational frameworks.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience with distributed-generation portfolios strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel to project sites and vendor locations.
  • Boulder-based or willing to relocate preferred, but remote candidates considered.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $160,000-$200,000, depending on experience.
  • Performance-based bonuses, with a 25% target.
  • Flexible PTO & Sick Leave.
  • 401(k) with up to 4% match, vesting on the first day of employment.
  • Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance.
  • Generous Parental Leave.
