Full Job Description
NVIDIA's accelerated computing and AI infrastructure division operates one of the largest and most intricate supply chains in the technology sector. We manufacture wafer, die, package, board, multi-board system, and rack-scale AI data center products via a worldwide network of OSAT and contract manufacturing collaborators. Every unit of that inventory is financially ours to account for, wherever it physically sits. This role owns the global control framework that guarantees its integrity - across every product tier, every site, and every fiscal close. This is a build role: You will establish NVIDIA's Supply Chain Inventory Control function from the ground up. You will recruit five specialists and set up the center of excellence that determines policy, controls, and audit standards across the entire supply value chain. You are joining at a pivotal moment. NVIDIA is driving a strategic shift in how supply chain inventory is owned and managed. The shift moves from mostly consigned models toward buy/sell and strategic supply arrangements. This change affects the working capital profile, contract compliance areas, and audit scope all at once. Our internal expertise is strong in consigned models. We are hiring externally because we want someone who has already developed controls through this type of transition and can design the framework right the first time, rather than discovering it during production.

This position is located at our Corporate Headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.

Travel: U.S. and international sites (approx 20%)

What You'll be Doing:
  • Build the team and the function. Hire and develop a team of five inventory control specialists spanning Factory, Fulfillment, Logistics, OSAT, and Service categories. Establish the continuous control monitoring system they manage. Extend your influence across a large community of regional and site practitioners in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC - setting standards centrally while the regions implement them.
  • Own inventory assurance for the global supply chain. Lead the controls and reconciliation work that gives Finance reliable inventory balances, aging, and variance evidence for valuation, reserves, write-off treatment, and quarter-end close. The core control is weekly book-to-book reconciliation across NVIDIA's SAP, supplier ERP, and physical inventory.
  • Run SOX 404 compliance for the inventory cycle end to end. Host external auditor walk-throughs, present to the Audit Committee, and maintain rigorous preparer/reviewer separation. Own cycle count adjustment reporting and set the schedule balancing perpetual cycle counts against wall-to-wall physical inventories.
  • Architect the control framework for the buy/sell transition. Design controls that hold as inventory ownership models shift, and that scale from OSAT die operations through rack-scale system integration across both forward and reverse logistics.
  • Manage the continuous control assessment system. This includes anomaly and perfect-match detection during regular book-to-book reconciliation, monitoring in-transit aging limits, overseeing off-SAP and non-valued-location governance, ensuring accuracy in SAP storage-location mapping, and conducting quarterly access certification for the transaction family. Lead variance investigations to achieve documented root-cause resolution.
  • Lead organizational change at global scale. Convert tribal, single-point-of-failure expertise into documented, ISO-aligned, certification-backed process across dozens of contract manufacturer sites and the broader supplier network.

What We Need to See:
  • Senior leadership experience in operations finance or inventory control within an international high-tech or semiconductor setting, involving multi-tier bills of material covering silicon, packaging, board, system, and rack-scale hardware. Backgrounds in Manufacturing Controller, Operations Finance leadership, or Director-level Inventory Control align closely.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience including direct ownership of inventory accounting, standard cost, variance analysis, reserve methodology, aging governance, write-off subject area, and the financial controls behind a manufacturing P&L.
  • End-to-end SOX 404 program ownership - test of design, test of effectiveness, named-owner walk-throughs with Big 4 external auditors, Audit Committee remediation cycles, and defensible preparer/reviewer evidentiary separation.
  • Hands-on SAP fluency across MM, WM, IM, and CO/FI. Cycle counting, book-to-book reconciliation, adjustment posting, inventory valuation, MB51, MB52, LI20/LI21, LX26, and SLOC-level reporting. You can walk an auditor through the system unaided, and you understand how transaction-level access governance functions as a control.
  • A history of managing variance investigations to completion involving in-transit aging, book-to-book discrepancies, SLOC mapping challenges, non-valued-location drift, and NPI/RMA plant misconfiguration. You are confident pursuing a reconciliation score that appears too perfect until you uncover the underlying factors.
  • The capacity to define standards centrally and achieve outcomes through influence across distributed regional teams, contract manufacturers, OSAT partners, 3PL warehouses, and forward-stocking locations. You operate authoritatively at both strategy and implementation levels, and you are comfortable as the appointed owner in external audit, Internal Audit, and Audit Committee forums.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, or Operations, or demonstrated equivalent experience with 8+ years in management.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:
  • Credentials - CPA or CMA designation. MBA with a finance or supply chain concentration, or equivalent experience.
  • Inventory model transitions - Direct experience leading a consigned-to-buy/sell transition, including contract compliance monitoring, working capital impact modeling, and control framework redesign under an active audit program.
  • Industry and product complexity - Semiconductor, accelerated computing, or hyperscale data center infrastructure, especially involving multi-level BOM structures that cover silicon, package, board, system, and rack scale. You recognize why a rack-level issue might stem from the die bank.
  • APAC manufacturing - Hands-on site experience in China, Taiwan, Vietnam, India, or Thailand, including factory-floor engagement with CM and OSAT partners rather than remote oversight alone.
  • Reverse logistics and NPI - Reverse-logistics flows, refurbishment and remanufacturing inventory treatment, NPI plant configuration, and factory calendar governance in SAP.
  • Data-driven controls - Applying AI or analytics to inventory anomaly detection and continuous control monitoring, with measurable reduction in undetected variance or reconciliation cycle time.
  • Continuous improvement - Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent process field applied to inventory operations at scale.
