Senior Director Financial Planning & Analysis

This new role, as Senior Director Financial Planning & Analysis, provides enterprise-wide leadership and strategic ownership for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) across Johnson Outdoors. Partners with the CFO and executive leadership team to set the direction for enterprise financial planning, performance management, resource allocation, and strategic decision support. Leads the FP&A organization and strengthens the processes, governance, analytics, and capabilities needed to drive profitable growth and long-term shareholder value.

Located at our beautiful Headquarters along Lake Michigan in downtown Racine: 555 Main Street, Racine, WI.

Key Responsibilities:

Enterprise FP&A Leadership
  • Provides enterprise leadership for FP&A and establishes the strategy, governance, and operating framework for financial planning, forecasting, performance management, and executive decision support across Johnson Outdoors.
  • Direct and integrates the annual operating plan, forecasts, long-range planning process, and executive financial reviews to support enterprise priorities and business performance.
  • Provides financial leadership and due diligence support for acquisitions, divestitures, strategic partnerships, and other enterprise growth initiatives.


Executive Partnership & Strategic Finance
  • Serves as a trusted strategic advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team, providing financial insight and recommendations on growth strategies, investment priorities, resource allocation, and business performance.
  • Oversee and directs enterprise financial analyses, scenario planning, and strategic modeling to support critical business decisions and long-term value creation.

Enterprise Performance & Capital Management
  • Leads and drives the development of enterprise financial and operational performance metrics, reporting, and management review processes.
  • Oversee the evaluation of business performance, identifies risks and opportunities, and recommends actions to improve profitability, efficiency, and return on investment.
  • Leads enterprise capital allocation analysis, investment evaluations, and strategic business cases to optimize deployment of resources and maximize long-term shareholder value.

Financial Transformation & Continuous Improvement
  • Drives ongoing enhancement of planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytical capabilities across the enterprise.
  • Champions the use of technology, automation, advanced analytics, and emerging tools to improve business insights and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partners across business functions to strengthen financial systems, processes, and data-driven decision-making.


Technology and AI Integration
  • Champions an AI-first mindset and the responsible integration of AI and other digital technologies into business strategy, prioritization, risk management, decision-making, and operations. Guides organizational adoption while ensuring alignment with company governance, security, privacy, and ethical standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff, which includes but is not limited to the following: hiring and terminating employees, promotions/pay adjustments, staff development, performance evaluations, resolution of employee concerns and disciplinary counseling.
  • Oversee the development of budgets, and ensures budgets are managed within approved guidelines.
  • Oversee the development and approval of policies, procedures, and guidelines to meet business needs.


What you need to succeed:
  • Advanced Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or equivalent. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 10 years finance leadership experience, including enterprise FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, performance management, strategic financial analysis, and leadership of finance teams in a complex, multi-business or global organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise FP&A, forecasting, budgeting, long-range planning, performance management, financial reporting, cash flow management, working capital optimization, and capital planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead enterprise-wide FP&A processes, establish governance, improve planning discipline, and drive consistent financial practices across business units.
  • Strong understanding of strategic finance, business performance drivers, capital allocation, investment evaluation, and value creation.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data, trends, risks, and opportunities into clear insights and actionable recommendations for executive leadership.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, challenge assumptions, and present complex financial information clearly to executive and Board-level audiences.
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvement, automation, systems enhancement, reporting, and advanced analytics capabilities to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong business acumen and cross-functional leadership ability, with the ability to connect financial performance to operational priorities, market conditions, enterprise strategy, and business unit objectives.
  • Strong understanding of AI capabilities, limitations, business impact, governance, risk, and ethical expectations. Ability to apply AI-supported insights to strategic decision-making, lead change, set expectations, and model responsible use.
