DescriptionSenior Digital Marketing SpecialistHybrid Southern Maine Area Full-Time
We9re growing our team and looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Specialist who doesn9t just understand digital marketing-who lives in it. Someone who doesn9t just execute, but thinks, builds, and eventually leads. If you9re the kind of person who wakes up curious about a Google Ads change that dropped overnight, can translate a complex data story into a confident client conversation, and thrives in an environment where no two months are the same, keep reading.
Is This You?You9re not looking for a job where you wait to be told what to do. You bring strategic depth, technical fluency, and the confidence to hold a difficult client conversation on a bad month-because you understand what9s in your control and what isn9t, and you can communicate that clearly.
You also know when to laugh. This work is intense, and the best people here have thick skin, good judgment, and a genuine sense of humor about the ride.
What You9ll DoThis is a 50/50 role-equal parts analytical depth and communication confidence. You9ll work closely with Bob (our digital lead) and a tight core team, touching roughly half the company on a day-to-day basis. Specifically:
- Own the execution and analysis of Google Ads campaigns-Search, Performance Max, Display, and beyond
- Manage and optimize Meta advertising strategies for automotive clients
- Interpret GA4 data and turn performance into clear, confident client conversations
- Serve as the internal expert on digital platforms-supporting account managers and guiding client discussions
- Navigate the nuance of local advertising vs. national brand performance-and help clients understand the difference
- Build and refine repeatable processes, then train the team on how to use them
- Identify opportunities and act on them proactively-nobody here is handing out to-do lists
- Grow, over time, into a leadership role on a senior team that is actively looking to add a 5th seat
What You Need to Succeed HereNon-negotiables:- Deep, current, hands-on Google Ads experience-not from two years ago, not cursory. Google9s ecosystem has changed dramatically in the last six months and will keep changing.
- GA4 proficiency as a daily working tool, not passing familiarity
- Meta advertising experience-active campaign management, not background awareness
- The communication confidence to hold difficult client conversations and come out the other side with the relationship intact
- A structured, calendar-driven approach to managing a high-volume monthly workload
- Emotional resilience-you don9t take client pressure personally and you don9t let it erode your confidence
Strongly preferred:- Background in a high-accountability performance environment-automotive dealerships, agency work, e-commerce, or any setting where you9re measured against competitors and results are non-negotiable
- Experience building or improving team processes and training others to use them
- Ability to read market share trends, competitor context, and external factors that affect campaign performance
This role is not for you if:- Your marketing background is primarily grassroots, nonprofit, or brand awareness-this is a capitalistic, ROI-driven environment and that9s a significant shift
- You need direction and structure to know what to work on-this team gives you rope, not a playbook
- You want strict 9-to-5 hours with no flexibility-clients don9t observe those hours and neither does the work
- You9re set in your ways. CBC does things differently than most agencies. That9s the point. Adapting to that-and eventually adding to it-is part of the job
What We Offer- Salary: $75,000-$100,000+, depending on experience
- Annual discretionary year-end bonus
- Dollar-for-dollar 401(k) match up to 10%
- Highly competitive, flexible health plan
- Uncapped PTO
- 60-80% remote for candidates based in the southern Maine area
- Agency day is Tuesday-in-office presence expected weekly, with senior team members typically in 2-3 days
- Minimal travel-occasional day trips to local New England clients, no overnights required
- A clear, real path to senior leadership for the right person
