This role will ensure digital content is audience-centered, accessible, discoverable, and aligned with the firm’s brand, business priorities, and organic growth objectives.

Applying a newsroom approach, the Senior Digital Content Manager will identify emerging issues, content trends, audience interests, and timely opportunities to develop original editorial ideas and creative approaches for presenting complex topics. Working closely with teams across the firm, this role will shape strategies that increase brand awareness, strengthen thought-leadership positioning, and extend the reach and impact of the firm’s content while advising stakeholders on content strategy, user experience, search visibility, and emerging digital discovery practices.

The Senior Digital Content Manager will lead the Digital Content/Web Content team and external resources and oversee the planning, development, optimization, maintenance, and lifecycle management of digital content. This role will establish standards, workflows, editorial priorities, and performance measures while providing direction, coaching, and professional development to the team. The individual is expected to maintain current knowledge of evolving digital content, search, accessibility, analytics, and AI/GPT practices and guide the responsible adoption of these capabilities across the Digital Content/Web Content function through training, professional development, and knowledge sharing.

Maintaining an in-office presence is important to delivering our services through an integrated and collaborative work culture. This position can be resident in our New York or Philadelphia office and follows a hybrid three (3) days per week in-office working arrangement.

What you’ll do:

Content Strategy and Editorial Development

  • Own the firm’s global digital content strategy, operating model, and multiyear roadmap.

  • Translate business, brand, practice, industry, recruiting, and reputation priorities into actionable content plans.

  • Lead content strategy for websites, campaigns, resource centers, blogs, landing pages, and emerging digital platforms.

  • Generate and advance original content ideas, editorial series, and creative approaches that respond to emerging issues, audience interests, and timely opportunities.

  • Define audience, journey, channel, editorial, and conversion strategies for priority digital experiences.

  • Identify content gaps and market opportunities and advise stakeholders on approaches that balance audience value, timeliness, brand distinction, and firm objectives.

Content Governance and Operations

  • Own global content governance, editorial standards, quality controls, and decision rights.

  • Establish and manage processes for content intake, prioritization, approval, publishing, maintenance, archival, and retirement, including service levels, production priorities, and quality expectations.

  • Direct content architecture, taxonomy, metadata, tagging, templates, and internal-linking standards.

  • Oversee content audits and lifecycle programs that improve accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and relevance.

  • Lead global localization and regional adaptation while protecting brand and editorial consistency.

  • Establish responsible standards for the use of generative AI and emerging tools within content workflows.

Organic Search, AI Discovery, and Optimization

  • Lead data-informed SEO, content authority, and AI-discovery strategies across the firm’s digital ecosystem.

  • Direct search-intent research, keyword strategy, topic development, structured content, and metadata optimization.

  • Monitor visibility across traditional search, answer engines, and AI-assisted discovery environments and identify opportunities to improve discoverability.

  • Lead conversion optimization, testing, and experimentation based on audience behavior and business priorities.

  • Partner with technical teams on search performance, structured data, accessibility, and platform improvements.

Digital Experience and Cross-Functional Delivery

  • Lead content strategy for redesigns, migrations, platform enhancements, launches, and major digital initiatives.

  • Partner with UX, design, development, analytics, marketing, brand, communications, and public relations teams to deliver integrated digital experiences.

  • Shape wireframes, content models, page structures, and user journeys that support clear audience actions.

  • Translate complex legal and business topics into clear, compelling, and accessible digital experiences.

  • Manage competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and deadlines across global and cross-functional projects.

  • Handle sensitive or high-priority content requiring senior judgment, speed, or reputational awareness.

Analytics, Measurement, and Performance

  • Establish content performance frameworks, benchmarks, targets, dashboards, and recurring reporting.

  • Connect content performance to visibility, engagement, conversion, reputation, recruiting, and business objectives.

  • Use insights to guide prioritization, optimization, investment, and resource decisions.

  • Present findings, implications, and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders and leadership teams.

  • Measure content quality, speed to market, lifecycle health, audience actions, and operational efficiency.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop the Digital Content/Web Content team, including Web Content Administrators.

  • Set goals, priorities, performance expectations, and development plans while providing regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, succession planning, and team capability development.

  • Allocate work and resources effectively while balancing capacity, quality, urgency, and development opportunities.

  • Build an inclusive, collaborative, curious, and accountable team environment.

  • Lead through influence across global teams and stakeholders outside the direct reporting structure.

Budget and Resource Management

  • Develop and manage assigned content budgets in partnership with the Senior Digital Marketing Manager.

  • Recommend staffing, technology, agency, and investment priorities based on business needs and performance.

  • Define agency and vendor scopes, deliverables, service expectations, and evaluation criteria, and assess performance, quality, timelines, and spending.

  • Identify efficiencies and resource solutions without compromising quality, accessibility, or audience value.

  • Support procurement, contract, and resource-planning activities as appropriate.
