HDR is seeking a
Senior Designer, Interiors, to join our growing team and continue the legacy of providing our clients and communities with creative design solutions that enhance the health and human condition of those they serve. A Senior Designer embodies high standards of design excellence and innovation, integrated within the firm's overall design strategy. Responsibilities include collaborating across disciplines and market sectors in project delivery, clearly presenting and documenting design concepts to all stakeholders, and demonstrating expert-level knowledge of the interior design process from programming through to construction administration. The role involves developing professional networks and new business opportunities, advancing your craft, mentoring team members, and providing guidance to project teams and individuals. As a Senior Designer, you will lead by example, inspire your team, and actively promote our collaborative culture.
Senior Designer, Interiors at HDR with mentorship and guidance from Interiors Leadership, will participate in the following:- Participate extensively in all phases of interior architectural projects and their management
- May lead an interior design team on projects of any size or complexity, in addition to delegating to and supervising the work of others.
- Serve as our primary contact with clients, consultants and public agencies on all assigned projects
- Determine standards for project development
- Demonstrate substantial knowledge of architectural contract preparation and use
- Select interior details, materials, color selections, furniture and furnishings lighting design, space planning, and detailing
- Organize and lead contract negotiations while providing leadership to project teams
- Develop schedules, manpower allocations and budgets on all assigned projects
- Write specifications covering interior design matters, and perform code reviews
- Assist other Interior Designers or Technicians as needed, and take responsibility for work in all phases of the interior design process
- Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications - Professional communication, presentation, and client management skills
- The ability to clearly document and present design concepts to all project stakeholders and industry peers
- Must be a team player focused on collaboration with the ability to maintain a consistently positive attitude despite challenging circumstances.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp/ Rhino (or similar), the Adobe Creative Suite, etc.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture (from an accredited school) or closely related field
- Active Interior Design Certificate holder or Registered Architect in the country you reside
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant design firm environment
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs
- Skilled in Revit and Bluebeam
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
