Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and design product lines reflecting brand strategies and market trends.
  • Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify emerging opportunities.
  • Manage the entire product design process, from mood boards to final approvals.
  • Ensure all design deadlines align with the seasonal calendar and key milestones.
  • Maintain accurate design information across various systems and archives.
  • Communicate directly with suppliers and manufacturers to facilitate the product lifecycle.

Full Job Description

Specific Responsibilities Would Include

Strategy & Innovation

  • Conceptualize and design product lines based on merchandise line plans, brand strategies, and pricing architecture.
  • Conduct market research, trend analysis, and competitive shopping to identify opportunities and emerging trends.
  • Interpret and translate trends into commercially viable products that reflect Coach's brand DNA and business strategy.

Operations & Results

  • Own all aspects of the product design process, including mood boards, design development, colorways, CAD sketching, material and trim sourcing, tech pack creation and maintenance, fittings, and product approvals.
  • Ensure all deadlines are met according to the seasonal calendar and key milestones.
  • Maintain accurate design information across shared drives, PLM, and NuORDER systems.
  • Organize and manage samples and reference materials within the design archive library.
Customer & Cross-Functional Partnerships
  • Communicate directly with suppliers, manufacturers, licensors, and other external partners.
  • Collaborate daily with internal cross-functional teams and overseas partners throughout the development process.
  • Participate in product and design meetings and travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Leadership & Teams

  • Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment and effectively manage upward.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset by seeking feedback, asking questions, taking initiative, and sharing ideas constructively.
  • Provide creative direction, mentorship, and performance management to direct reports while helping attract, develop, and retain talent.

  • Deep understanding of textile and accessory design, including knits, wovens, prints, materials, trims, construction techniques, silhouettes, and manufacturing processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion/Apparel Design, Accessories Design, or a related discipline.
  • 7-8 years of relevant experience in soft accessories, textiles, and/or apparel design.
  • Expert user of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Mac platforms; familiarity with PLM systems is a plus.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000

Our job postings include an annual base salary range at the time of employment. The stated base salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on several factors, including the selected candidate's educational and professional experience, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. Base salary is a part of a total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, annual bonus and other Centric Brands sponsored benefit programs.
