Full Job Description
As part of IPRO, the Senior Data Scientist will join a dedicated health care quality improvement team. Your work will include collecting and reviewing data, developing analytic approaches, producing reports and dashboards, conducting root-cause analyses, and summarizing information for internal and external stakeholders. You will also be involved in internal and client projects that leverage advanced analytic approaches including program evaluation, predictive modeling AI/ML techniques, and more.

This position is office based at our Albany, NY or Jericho, NY office.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Understands program needs and business processes and goals. Aligns analytic approaches to program needs.
  • Helps business users create optimal business requirements/acceptance plans.
  • Works with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
  • Designs analytics reports, dashboards and models.
  • Applies data validation strategies and techniques to ensure analyses use high-quality data.
  • Think creatively and apply natural curiosity to discover solutions.
  • Conducts analysis and builds models using multivariate techniques and other advanced approaches.
  • Troubleshoot any data to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
  • Produces all agreed upon deliverables on or ahead of schedule.
  • Writes reports with charts and graphs and summarizes findings and recommendations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong proficiency in two or more of each of the following areas:
    • Statistical analysis and data management tools (e.g., Python, SQL, SAS)
    • Visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, MS Excel, Power BI)
    • Presentation tools (e.g., MS Word, MS PowerPoint)
  • Strong proficiency in relational database concepts/query tools (e.g. SQL).
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects, change priorities as needed, while maintaining precision and a strong attention to detail. Ability to produce assigned deliverables within assigned deadlines.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills. Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience connecting many types of healthcare data (e.g. payer administrative, EMR, social determinants, patient-self reported) to answer complex business questions.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Master's degree in statistics, math, computer science, economics, data science, or related field required.
  • Three (3) years' experience in data science or data analytics required.
  • Previous experience working with healthcare data (e.g., metrics and analytics), preferred.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $85,000.00 - $100,000. Actual salary range and /or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.
