About the role:

CLA is seeking to hire a Senior Data Governance Analyst to join our growing team.

The Senior Data Governance Analyst leads core data governance initiatives and contributes to the continued maturity of CLA's enterprise data governance program. This role is responsible for designing and enforcing data governance policies, standards, and processes; driving data governance and data quality conformance; and partnering with business and technical leaders to promote consistent, responsible, and compliant use of data.

How you'll create opportunities in this Senior Data Governance Analyst role:
  • Lead the implementation and enhancement of enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and processes aligned with CLA's enterprise data strategy.
  • Identify gaps in data governance processes and lead continuous improvement efforts, including governance conformance monitoring and resolution of data issues.
  • Define governance requirements for enterprise metadata, including business terms, critical data elements, definitions, rules, lineage, ownership, and accountability.
  • Lead data governance intake and prioritization, assessing impact and effort and developing recommendations for consideration by the Data Governance Council.
  • Facilitate cross-functional data decisions among data stewards, custodians, subject matter experts, business stakeholders, and technical teams, documenting decisions and escalating unresolved issues as appropriate.
  • Own the lifecycle of assigned data governance artifacts, including drafting, review, approval, publication, versioning, and scheduled refreshes.
  • Partner with Compliance & Risk, Security, Legal, Metadata Management, and other stakeholders to support governance requirements, risk management, data quality, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training, communications, and guidance that strengthen data governance adoption, responsible data use, stewardship, and data literacy across the organization.

What you will need:
  • 4 or more years of relevant experience, including experience in data governance or data management.
  • Bachelor's degree required. A combination of relevant experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree. A degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, policies, standards, and best practices, including the ability to develop policies and translate them into measurable KPIs, OKRs, and conformance testing.
  • Working fluency with DAMA-DMBOK, particularly Data Governance, Metadata Management, Reference and Master Data, and Data Quality, along with knowledge of privacy and security regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional working sessions, read logical and physical data models, trace business terms to source systems, and communicate effectively with business leaders, data stewards, SMEs, custodians, and technical teams.
