Senior Data Analyst

Job Description

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for partnering with business leaders to identify, define, and analyze key performance metrics and operational drivers across the business. The role translates complex business requirements and data into scalable analytical models using Python and SQL, and delivers actionable insights, reporting, and decision-support tools that enable leaders to monitor performance, identify trends and opportunities, and make informed strategic and operational decisions.

• Partner directly with school executives, business leaders, and other stakeholders to understand key business performance drivers, complex state funding and compliance requirements, student enrollment and retention dynamics, business processes, and analytical needs, and provide data-driven insights and recommendations that support financial, strategic, and operational decision-making.

• Translate state funding methodologies, compliance requirements, retention drivers, and other complex business rules into mathematical models and scalable analytical solutions using Python and SQL.

• Develop, maintain, and validate analytical models, datasets, reports, and dashboards supporting key performance metrics, state funding, regulatory compliance, enrollment and student retention, forecasting, and operational decision-making.

• Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and underlying performance drivers, including changes in funding, compliance, enrollment, student retention, and other key business metrics.

• Develop and analyze student retention metrics to identify trends, drivers, and areas of opportunity across schools, student populations, and key points in the student lifecycle.

• Document state funding and compliance rules, business requirements, model logic, data definitions, and analytical processes to support accuracy, consistency, transparency, and scalability.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three (3) or more years of experience in data analytics, financial analytics, business intelligence, or a related role.

• Ability to clear the required background check.

Other REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and proficiency in Python for data analysis, modeling, and automation.

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex business rules or policies into structured calculations and analytical models.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data validation skills.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience working with business stakeholders and senior leaders.

• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency; working proficiency with Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to travel as required by the position.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Stride, Inc. considers a persons education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the positions work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employees salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the positions level and expected contribution, and the employees benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.

We anticipate the salary range to be $84,338.00 and $101,206.00. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individuals compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
