Job Description

How This Role Impacts Live Oak and Its People

The Senior Data Analyst, Deposits & Treasury Management is a critical analytics partner to the Deposits and Treasury Management organization as it scales. This role sits at the intersection of data strategy, forecasting, and automation — proactively identifying where current reporting and data processes fall short, and building the datasets, models, and tools the organization needs to keep pace with growth.

This person will build forecasts grounded in current market and rate conditions, translate complex data into clear stories for executive and board audiences, and modernize the spreadsheet-driven processes that support deposit pricing, funding strategy, and portfolio performance — using tools such as Databricks and Claude to automate what is manual today. The role also extends analytical support to partner functions including Marketing, Embedded Banking, and Merchant Services.

This role requires a strong analytics background, financial acumen, and the judgment to know where the organization's data and reporting needs are heading before a gap becomes a problem.

What You'll Do at Live Oak

Data Strategy & Proactive Analytics

  • Proactively identify data needs, gaps, and inefficiencies in current reporting and data processes as the Deposits and Treasury Management organization grows

  • Partner with enterprise data teams to build and maintain high-quality datasets and ensure a single source of truth for deposits and treasury reporting

  • Determine the data necessary to manage the deposits and treasury business, and continue to enhance data and reporting infrastructure ahead of business need

  • Recommend updates to policies, procedures, and controls to reduce operational and data risk as processes scale

  • Support the Head of Deposits and Chief Banking Officer by providing the data and analysis needed to develop, monitor, and track the department's budget

Forecasting & Market Analysis

  • Build forecasts and dynamic financial models informed by current market conditions, rate environment, and competitive dynamics

  • Conduct competitive analysis of market conditions and deposit pricing to identify new business opportunities and inform strategy

  • Support funds transfer pricing, liquidity / balance sheet management, and customer relationship pricing in partnership with Treasury and Finance

  • Prepare deposit pricing analysis, forecasts, and recommendations for management, including materials for the Bank's ALCO discussions

  • Monitor the deposit portfolio for deviations from projected strategy and volume, and recommend remediation

  • Develop predictive models of deposit production and growth using historical trends and current market conditions, and present findings and recommendations to leadership to guide proactive growth strategy

Automation & Technology

  • Take existing spreadsheet-based forecasts, models, and recurring reports and rebuild them as automated, scalable workflows in Databricks

  • Use Claude and related AI tools to automate manual analysis, reporting, and forecasting processes currently run in Excel

  • Build and manage dashboards using BI tools (Databricks, Power BI, Tableau) and advanced Excel to visualize data and track KPIs

  • Use SQL and Python to support data extraction, analysis, and automation across large, multi-table datasets

  • Modernize legacy, manual workflows using low-code platforms and automation frameworks

Reporting, Insights & Stakeholder Support

  • Own and maintain the KPI framework for the Deposits and Treasury Management organization

  • Develop executive- and board-ready dashboards, insights, and data narratives that clearly explain complex data scenarios, performance, and risk

  • Build and support the data and reporting needs of partner functions, including Marketing, Embedded Banking, and Merchant Services

  • Track deposits portfolio costs across marketing, deposit expense, technology, and personnel as well as assist with building out revenue reporting for treasury management, merchant services and embedded banking

  • Lead monthly and quarterly reporting cadence, delivering clear, executive-level insights on performance, risk, and trends

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses to investigate business questions and explain metric movement

  • Collaborate with the Treasury team to identify cost-effective sources of funding and support liquidity models

  • Maintain a high standard of regulatory awareness, including BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of experience in financial services, with a focus on deposits, treasury, analytics, finance, or portfolio management

  • Experience building forecasts, financial models, and market or competitive analysis under changing rate/market conditions

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including XLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data analysis tools

  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing complex queries and working with large, multi-table datasets

  • Familiarity with BI tools and dashboard development (Databricks, Tableau, Power BI) to visualize data and communicate insights

  • Demonstrated ability to identify process and data gaps proactively, and to design and implement automated solutions to close them

  • Comfort using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to automate spreadsheet-based analysis and recurring reporting workflows

  • Strong ability to synthesize complex and disparate data into clear reports and insights that support executive decision-making

  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data scenarios clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across functions and levels of the organization

  • Strong track record of meeting hard deadlines and managing competing priorities

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced degree

  • Deposit or treasury portfolio management experience, including exposure to funds transfer pricing and ALCO processes

  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis, modeling, or workflow automation

  • Experience supporting cross-functional partners such as Marketing, Embedded Banking, or Merchant Services with data and reporting
