Full Job Description
Data Architect

Lantern is seeking a hands-on, client-facing Senior Consultant, Data & AI to design and deliver modern data, analytics, and AI solutions across Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure.

You will work directly with client stakeholders and Lantern delivery teams to translate business needs into secure, governed, and scalable solutions that support analytics, machine learning, generative AI, and intelligent applications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, gather requirements, and translate business needs into practical solution designs and delivery plans.
  • Design, build, test, and deploy lakehouse, warehouse, batch, streaming, and real-time data solutions using Databricks, Fabric, Power BI, and Azure.
  • Develop data pipelines, transformations, models, semantic layers, dashboards, notebooks, and reusable technical components.
  • Apply data governance, quality, metadata, lineage, observability, security, and cost-management practices throughout delivery.
  • Implement CI/CD, DevOps, DataOps, source-control, testing, and deployment patterns for modern data platforms.
  • Own assigned workstreams, communicate progress and risks, troubleshoot issues, and help deliver high-quality outcomes on time.
  • Contribute to estimates, proposals, demonstrations, accelerators, technical documentation, and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentor consultants and engineers, participate in peer reviews, and collaborate with architects and project leaders on technical decisions.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • 5+ years of experience delivering data, analytics, or AI solutions, preferably in consulting or other client-facing environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with one or more core platforms - Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or Power BI - and working knowledge of the Azure modern data ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python or PySpark, with experience in ETL/ELT, lakehouse or warehouse delivery, data modeling, and semantic models.
  • Understanding of medallion and dimensional-modeling patterns, batch or streaming integration, and modern analytics architectures.
  • Practical experience with data governance, security, quality, metadata, lineage, observability, CI/CD, performance, and cost optimization.
  • Strong consulting, communication, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned workstreams while collaborating effectively with architects, engineers, analysts, and client teams.
Preferred Certifications

  • Databricks Data Engineer Associate or Professional
  • Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) or Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600)
  • Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
  • Relevant Azure AI, machine learning, generative AI, or data-platform credentials
  • Databricks Solutions Architect Champion is a plus

$110,000-$160,000 USD
