AOC reserves the right to close the recruitment at any time but no sooner than seven days after posting.POSITION PROFILEWhere Innovation Meets Integrity in Court Operations!The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Court Operations Consultant to join our Court Consulting and Technical Assistance team. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of court operations across Washington State by improving efficiency, strengthening integrity, and enhancing the experience of court users.
In this senior position, you will support and improve processes, programs, and services for both internal teams and court partners. You'll guide courts through change management, strategic planning, workflow improvement, and business process redesign, collaborating with AOC divisions to ensure coordinated support as courts modernize operations within Washington's non-unified system.
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized professional skilled in documenting impacts, outcomes, and operational changes. You will prepare clear reports that communicate findings, decisions, and recommendations to courts and stakeholders.
You will assist leaders and administrators in navigating change, strengthening strategic direction, and making informed, data-driven decisions. You will also design and deliver training and professional development to build statewide capacity and promote operational excellence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSome of the duties you will perform are:
- Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate court programs with significant operational impact.
- Manage complex, inter-jurisdictional projects; conduct research and analysis; and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Support courts and AOC partners with evidence-based practices, change management, strategic planning, and operational improvements.
- Analyze proposed legislation and assess its impact on court programs and statewide operations.
- Lead operational assessments, redesign business processes, and deliver clear, actionable reports and recommendations.
- Provide training, consultation, and technical assistance on workflow, case flow management, technology adoption, and operational best practices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in court administration, public administration, political science, business administration or closely allied field;
- Five (5) years of responsible experience in court administration and/or program development, including one (1) year in a supervisory or lead role and/or managing/directing groups or teams.
Relevant experience may substitute for the required education.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Proven ability to set goals, create timelines, manage multiple projects, and maintain accountability for high-quality, timely work.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, Outlook, Word, OneNote, and PowerPoint, at a level that supports advanced consulting, operational analysis, report development and project work.
- Independent, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with strong skills in documenting impacts and producing clear, accurate reports.
- Collaborative team member who works effectively across divisions and with court partners to advance shared operational goals.
- Mission-driven focus on improving court operations and supporting timely, effective, and equitable justice.
- Strong analytical abilities for understanding partner needs, evaluating complex information, and developing practical, evidence-based recommendations.
- Strong understanding of Washington's non-unified court system, including laws, procedures, stakeholders, and trends in court administration across all jurisdictional levels.
- NCSC Institute for Court Management certification (CCM or CCE) preferred.
WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATIONAOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. Holidays Full-time and part-time employees are entitled to paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year.

Full-time employees who work full monthly schedules qualify for holiday compensation if they are employed before the holiday and are in pay status for at least 80 nonovertime hours during the month of the holiday; or for the entire work shift preceding the holiday.
Part-time employees who are in pay status during the month of the holiday qualify for the holiday on a pro-rata basis. Compensation for holidays (including personal holiday) will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status in the month to that required for full-time employment, excluding all holiday hours. Sick Leave Full-time employees earn eight hours of sick leave per month. Overtime eligible employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month, earn a monthly proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment. Overtime exempt employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month do not earn a monthly accrual of sick leave.
