- Support developing, maintaining and counseling the company on pertinent patent law, open source software issues, and related policies, ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Connect with Walmart's business segments to understand product roadmaps and priorities, develop appropriate patent and IP strategies, and ensure coverage for key initiatives.
- Work closely with technologists, engineers, and other functions to review open source software requests as well as help shepherd compliance efforts.
- Manage relationships with internal clients and external counsel to address legal issues and mitigate risks effectively.
- Promote ethical standards and compliance, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability across teams.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by integrating legal insights into business decision-making and operational excellence.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience counseling clients on patentable subject matter, invention, and open source software governance.
- Experience providing legal advice and counsel on complex business matters.
- Proven ability to develop and implement legal strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Strong expertise in regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and policy analysis.
- Demonstrated skill in managing legal support for business transactions and projects.
- Proficiency in legal research, analysis, and evaluation of legislative and regulatory developments.
- Registered USPTO patent attorney.

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
