As part of our continued growth in the United States, we are seeking a Managing Consultant - Crowd & Transport Modelling to establish and grow our Los Angeles-based capability while supporting one of the most exciting mobility and major-event programs in North America, the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games (LA28).
This is an exceptional opportunity for a technically strong, client-focused consultant who enjoys solving complex movement, transportation, and operational planning challenges. You will work alongside transportation planners, data analysts, urban designers, engineers, and major-event specialists to help clients design and operate safe, efficient, and world-class venues and transport systems.
Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Technical Leadership
Lead crowd movement, pedestrian flow, passenger flow, and transport modelling studies.
Develop and oversee static and dynamic simulation models for major venues, transit systems, public spaces, and urban environments.
Provide technical direction on modelling methodologies, assumptions, analysis, and reporting.
Translate complex technical findings into practical recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
Maintain technical quality and foster innovation in modelling approaches and analytical tools.
Project Delivery
Manage multidisciplinary projects from initiation through completion.
Develop scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
Coordinate with transportation, planning, engineering, architecture, and operations teams across North America.
Present findings and recommendations to clients, project partners, and executive stakeholders.
Support project commercial performance and client satisfaction objectives.
Major Events and Transportation Advisory
Support planning and operational readiness initiatives associated with major events, venues, and transportation systems.
Conduct ingress, egress, queue management, emergency evacuation, passenger flow, and transport interface assessments.
Support risk-based operational planning and scenario testing through advanced simulation and analytics.
Collaborate with venue operators, transit agencies, event organizers, public-sector clients, and security stakeholders.
Business Development and Client Relationship Management
Build and strengthen relationships with transportation agencies, venue owners, event organizers, and public-sector clients throughout Southern California.
Identify and pursue new opportunities within transportation, major events, transit, aviation, and urban mobility markets.
Support proposal development, interviews, client presentations, and strategic pursuits.
Contribute to the growth of GHD's advisory and modelling capabilities across the Americas.
Team Development
Mentor and develop analysts and consultants.
Support recruitment and capability growth in the Los Angeles market.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with simulation and modelling platforms such as Legion, MassMotion, Pathfinder, Viswalk, AnyLogic, or similar.
Familiarity with GIS, Python, SQL, Power BI, or data visualization tools.
Experience managing client relationships and contributing to business development activities.
Existing transportation, venue, or major-event industry connections within California or the broader western United States.
Salary Range: $98,000-$165,000 based on location and experience
