Note: (For NJ candidates) This role will be located at our future headquarters in Short Hills, N.J. Until the new headquarters is operational, the successful candidate will be offered the ability to work in our Branchville, N.J. location during this interim period.
Responsibilities- Analyzes/evaluates internal positions and compares to comparable roles within Selective as well as external compensation surveys to maintain appropriate grade levels. Works closely with clients to maintain internal equity.
- Assists in updating salary structures by compiling and analyzing data and recommending appropriate course of action. Develops/analyzes annual salary structures and guidelines.
- Takes a lead role in the annual compensation process. Develops and maintains compensation spreadsheets, systems, reports, and executive compensation data. Ensures the accuracy of all reports prior to distribution. Works closely with HRIS to ensure data integrity.
- Participates in compensation surveys and analyzes market data, trends, and/or projections. Meets all published deadlines. Maintains CompAnalyst application.
- Maintains all job descriptions and works with HR Managers to ensure they are up-to-date and accurate. Revises roles as necessary to meet reporting and compliance requirements.
- Develops, distributes, and maintains all quarterly reports including but not limited to turnover, incentive accruals, promotions/interim increases, and gold awards. Ensures reports are distributed in a timely manner.
- Maintains all plan documents updating as appropriate. Ensures legal review.
- Keeps abreast of current compensation trends particularly in the Property & Casualty industry. Monitors all programs in regards to adherence to internal policies and external legislation, e.g., FLSA, Pay Equity, etc.
- Proactively identifies compensation challenges/opportunities and recommends creative, acceptable solutions and strategies to resolve challenges and/or capitalize on opportunities.
- Develops and delivers compensation training.
QualificationsKnowledge and Requirements- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong math skills, project management skills, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work with all levels in the organization.
- Expert proficiency in most standard business software applications, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook), Internet, HRIS and HRIS report writing required.
Education and Experience- College degree preferred.
- 5+ years of compensation experience
