This role sits at the intersection of cloud strategy, infrastructure rationalization, and security compliant architecture design. You will lead the evaluation and implementation of on premises, cloud native, and hybrid architectural approaches across a multi enclave environment - driving measurable footprint reduction, workload placement optimization, and total cost of ownership improvement. If you bring deep technical expertise in cloud architecture, Infrastructure as Code, and federal security frameworks, and you thrive in environments where architectural decisions have direct mission impact, this role is for you.
***This position is located in our Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable***
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Lead the architectural design, evaluation, and implementation of hybrid cloud solutions spanning on premises compute and storage infrastructure, colocation datacenter environments, and Government hosted cloud platforms.
. Conduct workload placement analysis across virtualized and cloud environments, applying memory utilization, compute demand, enclave separation requirements, licensing constraints, and production representative fidelity as evaluation criteria for consolidation and migration decisions.
. Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, patterns, and guardrails that govern automated provisioning, self service environment delivery, and tenant workload management across physically separated security enclaves.
. Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent platforms to automate environment provisioning, configuration management, and operational consistency across hybrid environments.
. Evaluate and recommend workload migration strategies, including lift and shift, re platforming, and cloud native re architecture approaches, with explicit consideration of security authorization requirements, enclave boundary constraints, and program specific physical testing dependencies.
. Lead architecture planning for enterprise platform migrations, including cloud based successor platform transitions, with full lifecycle scope covering licensing, architecture, cybersecurity and authorization, integrations, data migration, testing, cutover, and user support.
. Develop FinOps aligned architecture recommendations that optimize cloud resource consumption, reduce total cost of ownership, and provide traceable cost attribution across programs and services.
. Collaborate with cybersecurity and authorization teams to ensure all architectural designs are consistent with applicable RMF controls, ATO requirements, and Zero Trust maturity objectives.
. Serve as a technical resource and mentor for cloud engi
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

. Experience with AWS GovCloud or equivalent Government authorized cloud environments, including familiarity with DCOPS managed or agency operated cloud infrastructure models.
. Experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud native application hosting in federal environments.
. Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture principles and CISA Zero Trust Maturity Model pillar implementation.
. Experience supporting enterprise platform migrations involving Atlassian, GitHub Enterprise, Splunk, or similar DevSecOps toolchains.
. Experience with FinOps frameworks, cloud cost governance, and TCO modeling in hybrid environments.
. AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent cloud certification.
. Experience in DoD or Defense Health Agency IT environments.
