The Opportunity

Design What Comes Next

Join our Land Development and Municipal Engineering team in Ottawa as an Experienced/Senior Civil Engineering Technologist. In this role, you'll help shape the infrastructure that supports growing communities across Ottawa and the surrounding region. Working alongside experienced engineers, project managers, and technical specialists, you'll contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of impactful municipal and land development projects while continuing to expand your technical expertise and professional growth.

Your Impact
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation for municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
  • Create technical specifications, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates that support successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and practical design solutions for local communities.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure construction aligns with design intent and project requirements.
  • Support project managers and engineers through design coordination, construction administration, and technical problem-solving.
  • Contribute to proposals, project planning activities, and client-facing deliverables.
  • Apply engineering standards, OPSS, and OPSD requirements to produce high-quality design documentation.
  • Help improve community infrastructure that enhances safety, mobility, and long-term sustainability.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or an equivalent program.
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience in municipal engineering, land development, transportation, or road reconstruction projects.
  • Advanced proficiency with Bentley MicroStation; experience with OpenRoads is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM workflows, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) environments.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, specifications, OPSS, and OPSD requirements.
  • Proven ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical design documentation.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and access to a vehicle, with the ability to work in both office and field environments.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $104,100 - $138,000
MB & ON: $95,000 - $130,800
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $94,100 - $124,900
