Senior Civil Engineer | Anaheim, CA

IMEG is hiring a Senior Civil Engineer in Southern California, with the opportunity to be based in Anaheim, Ontario, or Pasadena. This is an opportunity for an experienced engineer ready to take the next step in their career, expand their client and project leadership experience, and grow toward broader leadership opportunities within a 100% employee-owned firm.

You will lead large and complex civil infrastructure and site design projects while managing scope, schedule, quality, and client coordination. You'll also mentor developing engineers, build client relationships, contribute to business development, and help shape the continued growth of our Southern California civil practice.

The team supports survey, transportation, municipal, and site development work across Southern California and the Southwest.

What You'll Do
  • Manage projects ranging in size and complexity, serving as the point of contact for teams and clients.
  • Collaborate with business development staff, Project Executives, Client Executives, and Market Directors/Leaders during early project opportunities.
  • Assist with design scopes of work, fee calculations for proposals, and contract reviews.
  • Create project schedules with milestones and deadlines.
  • Create monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting, and update billing projections and estimated completion percentages monthly.
  • Ensure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards, and code requirements, and that design milestones, quality control processes, and construction technical support are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate design staff and project scheduling through all phases of design and construction, and lead progress meetings with documentation.
  • Lead project interviews and presentations.
  • Resolve client and construction concerns, and manage change orders through approval.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate staff.
  • Build, maintain, and develop client relationships.


What You'll Bring

Required Education
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required


Required Experience
  • 14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industry

  • Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path
  • Mastery of the technical aspects of one's discipline
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in the Civil Engineering field
  • Ability to mentor, train, motivate, and lead others
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Strong training and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficiency in the use of BIM software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Civil and survey work across Southern California and the Southwest, from Anaheim and Pasadena to Las Vegas and Scottsdale
  • Site civil and ADA design for major clients including Toyota and Kaiser Permanente medical facilities
  • Strong K-12 and higher-education portfolio, including modular classroom builds and campus sewer improvements
  • Recent work includes Kaiser Medical Center Ontario, Healthcare; McKinley School Relocatable Classrooms, Education; and Toyota NAPCC Fencing, Industrial.

State of California Salary Range: $116,000 -$163,000 per year

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.

Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
