Your RoleAs our Senior Buyer, you will:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for automotive components, materials, tooling, equipment, and services.
- Lead supplier sourcing activities, including RFIs, RFQs, supplier evaluation, and supplier selection.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial agreements to improve profitability and mitigate supply risks.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives across assigned commodities.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and overall service levels.
- Support new product launches by participating in APQP, PPAP, engineering changes, and program implementation activities.
- Identify and proactively address supply chain risks, capacity concerns, and market fluctuations.
- Develop and onboard new suppliers in partnership with Supplier Development Engineering and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Projects, Quality, Operations, Logistics, Production, and Supply Chain teams to achieve business objectives.
- Manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, supplier records, and procurement documentation within SAP and approved purchasing systems.
- Prepare purchasing metrics, analyses, and reports that support strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
- Build strong supplier relationships that support long-term business success and performance expectations.
What You Bring to The TableWe're seeking a procurement professional who combines strong business acumen with excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Required Qualifications:- 5-7 years of Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain experience within the automotive industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively with suppliers and stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications- SAP experience.
- Knowledge of E-Procurement systems.
- Experience supporting automotive new product launches and supplier development initiatives.
- Understanding of APQP, PPAP, and automotive manufacturing processes.
- German language skills are a plus.
- Experience working within a global manufacturing organization.
