About The Role & Team

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant with broker-dealer experience to own complex areas of the monthly close and play a key role in audit readiness and execution. This role requires someone who can operate independently, dig into issues, and exercise sound judgment on when to resolve vs escalate.

You'll work across accounting, operations, and compliance to ensure accurate financial reporting in a regulated environment.

In This Role, You Will

  • Monthly Close & Accounting Operations
    • Own and execute key components of the monthly and quarterly close
    • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
    • Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks across sub-ledgers and the general ledger
    • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting in a multi-entity environment
  • Broker-Dealer & Regulatory Accounting
    • Support preparation of regulatory reports (e.g., FOCUS reporting, net capital, reserve calculations)
    • Apply understanding of broker-dealer accounting
    • Partner with compliance and finance on regulatory requirements and changes
  • Audit Support & Readiness
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for audit requests in assigned areas
    • Prepare clear, well-documented support for external auditors (PBC requests)
    • Respond to audit inquiries with timely and complete responses
    • Identify and remediate control gaps or documentation issues
  • Problem Solving & Process Improvement
    • Proactively identify issues during close and drive resolution
    • Escalate risks and issues appropriately, with context and proposed solutions
    • Improve processes, documentation, and controls to increase efficiency and reduce risk


The Skills You Bring

  • 3-7+ years of accounting experience, with broker-dealer or financial services exposure
  • Hands-on experience with monthly close and account reconciliations
  • Direct experience supporting external audits
  • Familiarity with SEC / FINRA reporting requirements (net capital, reserve, FOCUS)
  • Strong Excel skills (comfortable working with large datasets)
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar)
  • Understanding of internal controls and audit documentation standards


What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience with crypto / digital asset accounting (custody, wallet tracking, fair value considerations)
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or active progress toward certification
  • Series 27 (FINOP) or prior experience supporting a Financial and Operations Principal
  • Background in a clearing firm environment or direct interaction with clearing brokers

At Webull, we're committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. The base salary range is $110,000 - 165,000 annually, plus a discretionary bonus and full benefits.
