The role
We are hiring a Senior Backend Software Engineer to build scalable services for automated restaurant revenue recovery. You will lead backend work in Java while contributing to customer-facing status and outcome experiences. This is a systems-focused role with meaningful ownership over architecture, uptime, experimentation, and the tools that help the business measure wins and dollars recovered.
What you'll do
• Build scalable Java backend services for data ingestion, decisioning, filing, tracking, and resolution workflows.
• Contribute to frontend status and outcome experiences that make the product's work clear to customers.
• Design systems for reliable automation, integrations, and operational scale.
• Improve architecture, testing, observability, uptime, and system performance.
• Run experiments and build measurement that clarifies win rates and recovered revenue.
• Partner with product, data, operations, and support teams to deliver durable customer outcomes.
Requirements
What we're looking for
• 5 to 10 years of software engineering experience, primarily building with Java.
• An undergraduate degree in computer science or another STEM discipline.
• Experience at a leading technology company such as Google, Amazon, Meta, Uber, Lyft, or a comparable technology company.
• Strong distributed-systems and system-design experience.
• A record of sustained ownership and follow-through in prior roles.
• Experience building, testing, and operating reliable production systems.
Bonus points
• Experience with automation, integrations, payment disputes, or revenue-recovery workflows.
• Full-stack experience, including customer-facing product surfaces.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and continuous delivery practices.
Benefits
Compensation and benefits
• Base salary of $167K to $230K, plus long-term incentive equity.
• Target annual performance bonus of $45K, paid 20% in cash and 80% in long-term incentive equity.
• Exceptional performance can qualify for bonus outcomes of up to five times the target. This is not guaranteed.
Location and work model
• Five days per week onsite in Seattle.
• Full-time position.
• Existing U.S. work authorization is required; H-1B transfers are supported.
