Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and execute test plans for connected vehicle (CV) systems, including telematics control units (TCUs), infotainment systems, and V2X features
- Perform validation and diagnostics using CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, and Ethernet-based network tools (e.g., Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, PCAN)
- Validate Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) / Software Over-the-Air (SOTA) update processes, including update packaging, delivery, rollback scenarios, and failure recovery
- Simulate and inject network traffic/faults to test ECU behavior under edge cases and abnormal conditions
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts (Python, CAPL, or similar) to improve validation efficiency and coverage
- Perform bench, HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), and vehicle-level testing for connected features
- Log, triage, and track defects using tools such as JIRA, DOORS, or similar ALM platforms
- Collaborate with software, systems, and cybersecurity teams to define validation requirements and acceptance criteria
- nalyze CAN bus logs and network traces to identify root causes of communication failures
- Ensure compliance with relevant automotive standards (ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R156 for software updates, etc.)
- Document test results, generate validation reports, and present findings to cross-functional stakeholders
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
- 6-10 years of experience in automotive validation or embedded systems testing
- Hands-on experience with CAN bus tools (Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, Vehicle Spy, PCAN, or equivalent)
- Practical experience validating FOTA/SOTA update systems, including update integrity, versioning, and rollback testing
- Solid understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Ethernet, UDS/ISO 14229)
- Familiarity with connected vehicle architectures (TCU, gateway modules, cloud-to-vehicle communication)
- Experience with scripting/automation (Python, CAPL, or similar) for test automation
- Understanding of automotive cybersecurity concepts as they relate to OTA updates
- Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to interpret bus traces and system logs
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with UNECE R156 (software update management) and R155 (cybersecurity) compliance validation
- Familiarity with HIL test rigs and lab automation
- Exposure to AUTOSAR-based ECU architectures
- Knowledge of cloud-based OTA platforms (AWS IoT, Azure, or OEM-proprietary FOTA solutions)
- Experience with DOORS, Polarion, or similar requirements management tools
- SPICE or ISO 26262 process familiarity
