As a Project Manager, Senior Associate, you will sit at the intersection of Product Management, Project Execution, and Event Leadership. You will be responsible for translating community insights and strategic priorities into tangible, scalable outcomes. You will be a key player, focusing on designing and delivering high-impact programs, events, and managing a grant portfolio that enhances our community impact. You will have the opportunity to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that directly support our mission to democratize car ownership and drive socioeconomic mobility. Responsibilities:

• Program Design & Execution: Run the small business accelerator cohorts from start to finish—shaping the curriculum, managing application and selection cycles, gathering founder feedback, and using that input to continually improve the program so businesses get real value.
• Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with startup founders, community organizations, and business leaders, helping connect entrepreneurs to mentors, resources, and business opportunities.
• Event Planning & Management: Own the planning and execution for key community events—such as demo days, pitch showcases, and our annual golf tournament—handling everything from vendor coordination and run-of-shows to speaker prep and on-site logistics.
• Grant Portfolio Management: Manage a diverse grant portfolio for Startup and Small Business programs, ensuring strategic alignment with Capital One’s socioeconomic mobility framework and brand differentiation goals.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively across internal lines of business, external nonprofit leaders, and government officials, synthesizing diverse stakeholder input to keep key projects moving forward.
• Brand Ambassadorship: Represent Capital One in the community through networking, public speaking, and event attendance.

Qualities of a successful candidate:

• Proven track record in project and program management, with an exceptional ability to bring order, clarity, and speed to ambiguous, multi-threaded initiatives while managing simultaneous deliverables and tight timelines.
• Demonstrated ability to define product vision, manage strategic roadmaps, and apply user-centric design principles while collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable educational or digital learning products.
• Proven experience developing and overseeing strategic grant portfolios, tracking impact metrics, and building strong relationships across corporate, non-profit, and civic organizations.
• Track record of directing end-to-end event logistics, curating content, managing executive speakers, and delivering large-scale corporate or community events and convenings.
• Highly motivated and outcome-focused with a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, comfortable solving problems independently and jumping in on whatever is needed to get the job done.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a clean process focus, adept at using Google Workspace and Generative AI tools to streamline workflows and stay on top of competing priorities.
• Generative AI and Google suite proficiency.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
• At least 4 years of experience in project or process management

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience
• 4+ years of managing high-profile corporate events and large-scale community convenings
• 2+ years of experience managing business accelerator programs or startup grant portfolios
• Demonstrated ability to build strategic, win-win cross-sector partnerships (for example: private sector, nonprofit, and government)
• Exceptional written, verbal, and public speaking presentation skills
• Experience navigating complex corporate environments with cross-functional matrixed teams
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
