Job Overview

The Senior Associate Product Engineer supports designated product lines in the areas of product development, product line maintenance, production release, production support, and product applications. This position will require working with a variety business departments including: Marketing, Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, New Product Engineering, Customer Service, Field Sales and Management.

A Day In The Life

  • Product line maintenance (cost reductions, drawing updates, engineering change requests, testing, and interfacing with various departments including operations, manufacturing engineering, sourcing, new product development & quality departments
  • Maintain and create AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor 2-D and 3-D files needed for tooling development and manufacturing needs
  • Shop floor and product development support for Quality, Operations, Sourcing, and Manufacturing Engineerin
  • Lead material cost takeout, scrap reduction, productivity, and DtV initiative
  • Engineering new designs and product line extensions, with a focus on high voltage transmission line hardware and substation component
  • Participate in or lead lean initiatives related to product line development, support, and maintenance
  • Perform or oversee mechanical and electrical testing required for product development and maintenance
  • Provide technical assistance to Marketing, Customer Service, Field Sales and Customers in the areas of product performance, applications, and maintenance
  • Very limited travel requirements involving off-site testing of products, marketing support, field review of product applications, or training activities.


What will help you thrive in this role?

  • BS degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred)
  • Autodesk Inventor 2D/3D knowledge and Microsoft Office proficiencies
  • 1 - 3 years of related work experience with specialized training with CAD software and methods with precise drawing techniques and convention - layout planning, arrangement of appropriate views, sections, and details as required to best describe part geometry
  • Exposure to ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standards
  • Understanding of materials, molding processes, metal forming, and general knowledge of manufacturing and tooling
  • Knowledge of solid modeling concepts and techniques would be considered a plus factor
  • Proficiency with computers and office software
  • BOM knowledge to create new and revise existing bill structures
  • Skills in technical writing for EC documents and engineering specifications
