Our IT Services professionals help clients establish high-performing, secure, reliable, and scalable IT functions that enable business transformation and growth.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Associate to support IT assessments, transformation programs, and operational improvement initiatives across client engagements. This role combines hands-on analysis and problem-solving with project execution, client collaboration, and coordination of defined workstreams. This role can be based in any of Ankura’s US offices.

The Senior Associate will help evaluate clients’ IT operations, infrastructure, cloud environments, applications, service delivery, organizations, vendors, costs, risks, and performance. The individual will work with senior team members to develop recommendations and support implementation of practical improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Support assessments of IT strategy, operations, infrastructure, cloud services, applications, service delivery, organization, vendors, costs, and risks.

  • Analyze operational, financial, organizational, and technology data to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities.

  • Document current-state IT environments, processes, operating models, application portfolios, organizational structures, and vendor arrangements.

  • Help develop IT strategies, operating models, transformation roadmaps, governance frameworks, and implementation plans.

  • Support improvements to IT service management, including incident, problem, change, request, asset, and service-level management.

  • Assist with infrastructure and cloud modernization, application rationalization, cost optimization, vendor management, and operational resilience initiatives.

  • Develop financial models, benchmarks, performance metrics, dashboards, presentations, and other client deliverables.

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews, facilitate working sessions, document requirements, and communicate findings.

  • Manage assigned workstreams, including activities, timelines, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.

  • Collaborate with client business and technology teams to implement recommended improvements.

  • Prepare clear executive-level presentations that translate technical findings into business implications and actions.

  • Support proposals, solution development, research, effort estimates, and other business-development activities.

  • Provide guidance and quality review to junior team members as experience permits.

  • Contribute to the development of methodologies, assessment tools, accelerators, and practice knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Two to six years + of experience in IT operations, IT consulting, technology transformation, managed services, infrastructure, application management, or a related field.

  • Working knowledge of enterprise IT operations, including infrastructure, cloud, applications, service delivery, vendors, governance, and technology costs.

  • Experience supporting IT assessments, transformation programs, implementation initiatives, or operational improvement efforts.

  • Familiarity with IT service management processes and frameworks, such as incident, problem, change, request, asset, and service-level management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to organize data, identify trends, and develop practical recommendations.

  • Ability to understand technical issues and communicate their business, financial, operational, and risk implications.

  • Strong project-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business analysis and presentation tools.

  • Experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure, application portfolios, service-management tools, or IT financial analysis is preferred.

  • Experience in consulting, professional services, corporate IT, or a managed-services environment is preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with client stakeholders.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.

  • Relevant certifications, such as ITIL, cloud-platform, project-management, or technology-governance credentials, are beneficial.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, business, or a related field is preferred.

  • Travel expectations are minimal / as needed. Up to 10% max
