Senior Asset Management Specialist

What we're looking for

As a Senior Asset Management Specialist within Lloyd's Register Advisory Services, you will act as a technical authority on complex asset integrity, reliability, and maintenance challenges across the maritime and energy sectors. You will guide critical assessments in settings where technical expectations are often incomplete or in flux, building durable, risk-based engineering solutions that boost asset performance, safety, and operational efficiency. This role also provides the opportunity to advise clients on decisions at senior level, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to the development of technical standards and service offerings.

The role
  • Perform complex asset integrity, reliability, and maintenance assessments for energy and maritime clients.
  • Develop, validate, and review technical deliverables, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply advanced asset management methodologies to deliver risk-based, data-driven engineering solutions.
  • Provide skilled interpretation of asset integrity and reliability principles across diverse operational contexts.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to senior client stakeholders.
  • Advise clients on alternative engineering strategies and risk-based solutions where requirements are not clearly defined.
  • Support commercial discussions including scope definition, technical input, and estimation of effort and cost.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget where applicable, ensuring delivery aligns with contractual obligations and commercial parameters.
  • Monitor progress and closely manage risks and changes during project execution.
  • Mentor and coach junior engineers and technical specialists.
  • Contribute to the development of internal methodologies, standards, and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement of service delivery processes and technical knowledge management.


What you bring
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Physical Science (minimum 3-year programme).
  • Chartered Engineer status or actively working toward chartership (e.g. ICE, IMechE, IChemE or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in Asset Management within the Maritime and Energy sectors.
  • Solid background in Reliability, Maintenance, and Asset Integrity engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role delivering complex engineering solutions.
  • Extensive client-facing experience with the ability to engage and work effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, including technical report writing.
  • Project management experience in technical or engineering environments is beneficial.
  • Functional Safety qualification (e.g. IEC 61508 / IEC 61511 exposure) is beneficial.
  • Experience with MAROS or similar RAM modelling tools is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and IMDS systems is beneficial.
