Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Architect to lead construction-phase architectural services for a large-scale mixed-use development. This role is best suited to a candidate with 12+ years of experience and deep technical expertise in retail and multi-family residential projects, with a strong understanding of CMAR project delivery.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership during construction, ensure design intent is maintained, support resolution of field and coordination issues, and oversee compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements. This individual must be able to manage complex stakeholder interfaces and coordinate building systems across a large, multi-disciplinary project environment.

Role accountabilities:
  • Lead architectural construction-phase services for a large-scale mixed-use development.
  • Provide technical leadership to ensure design intent, functionality, safety, and quality are maintained throughout construction.
  • Review and oversee architectural documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulatory requirements, and sustainability standards.
  • Support construction teams by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and helping resolve site and coordination issues.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines, contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders to address technical and delivery challenges.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and risk management across the construction phase of the project.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Professional degree in Architecture.
  • US architectural licensure required.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in architectural practice.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale mixed-use projects, with strong emphasis on retail and multi-family residential components.
  • Experience working on projects delivered through CMAR or similar collaborative delivery models.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, documentation standards, construction coordination, and project delivery workflows.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical issues through resolution during construction.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on high-profile or complex urban developments.
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary coordination in large project environments.
  • Experience supporting contractor coordination, field issue resolution, and construction administration processes.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $101,000- $152,000 . Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
