Job DescriptionIn this role, you will apply your knowledge and experience to extract and convey actionable insights at NORAD and USNORTHCOM Office of the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO). As the Senior Application Developer, you will design and deliver hardened data pipelines and analyses to inform ongoing operations and shape strategic roadmaps. You will serve as the cross-functional bridge between multiple engineering and client leadership teams, partnering closely with Nyla data scientists on the CAIO team to structure data science workflows and deliver high-consequence operational tools that solve critical mission challenges! The annual base salary range for this role is $170,000-$230,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills- Core Software Development: Strong proficiency in Python or JavaScript writing clean, maintainable, and scalable application code.
- Infrastructure & Automation: Experience with entry-level to advanced Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Configuration-as-Code, and CI/CD pipeline operations.
- API Integration & Security: Familiarity with developing APIs and integrating with API Gateways, developing REST services, containerizing applications and/or microservices using Docker or Kubernetes, and container security and hardening baselines (such as IronBank).
- Testing & Repository Management: Hands-on experience with unit testing frameworks and Git-based code repositories (such as GitHub/GitLab).
Education & Experience- Experience: 4+ years of experience delivering data and AI solutions for DoW or IC customers
- Education: Master's Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems or a related field.
Desired Skills- Demonstrated history of delivering high-consequence mission-enabling tools and solving complex operational road blocks.
- Implementing AI solutions that go beyond basic LLM chat interfaces, such as integrating custom machine learning models or augmenting existing models with new data.
- Experience leading engineers on a technical delivery team, including requirements decomposition and ticket prioritization in a system such as Atlassian Jira
