What you'll need to succeed as a Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting at XPO

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Science, Computer Science or related field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis, including hands on budgeting and forcasting for large corporate environments


Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in transportation and logistics
  • Experience in Financial Shared Services
  • MBA or professional certification (CPA, CFA) is preferred but not required

What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and develop standardized reporting packages, dashboards, and metric-driven insights for leadership.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, highlighting trends, risks and performance drivers.
  • Build and maintain financial models to support budgeting, planning and scenario analysis.
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to ensure stakeholders have consistent and timely visibility into operational and financial data.
  • Adjust report design and delivery cadence in response to evolving business or financial shared services requirements.
  • Safeguard data accuracy and integrity across all reporting tools through strong data governance and quality-control practices.
  • Monitor and communicate reporting progress and deliverable status to management.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) across accounts receivable, collections, cash applications, credit, corrections, billing, and P2P, while conducting in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that guide business decisions.
  • Build, enhance, and maintain financial and analytical models to improve forecasting accuracy and support strategic initiatives.
  • Perform data mining and statistical analysis to uncover patterns within large datasets and provide insights that inform decision-making.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to department leaders by providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business drivers and translate data into actionable insights that support operational and financial decisions.
  • Present financial results, trends, and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors during financial audits.
  • Provide training, guidance, and technical support to junior team members on reporting tools, data processes, and analytical techniques.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to increase reporting efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of reporting processes, data sources, and troubleshooting procedures to ensure repeatability and compliance.
  • Promote best practices in report reproducibility and establish proactive communication methods for alerting management to production issues and supporting timely resolution.
