Description and Requirements The Opportunity As part of the Market Risk team within the Global Risk Management, the Senior Actuarial Associate will support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of certain market risk models, analytics, and reports, used to assess MetLife's risk profile for ALM management across economic and accounting perspectives
Key models and reporting processes supported by this role include:
- Replicating Portfolio model (e.g. liability proxy model)
- Value-at-risk model
- Business plan risk review
- Risk exposure report under accounting (GAAP, Statutory) and Economic views.
Additionally, this role will provide analytic support for other strategic initiatives for market risk management.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and enhance market risk models, reporting frameworks, and analytics.
- Produce risk reports and communicate key insights to Market Risk leadership.
- Improve reporting and modeling processes through AI, Power Automate, and other automation tools.
- Support business plan reviews and risk assessments for strategic initiatives.
- Assist with Market Risk governance activities, including working groups and committee operations.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field.
- ASA designation (or near-ASA) with 4+ years of relevant actuarial experience.
- Advanced Excel modeling and quantitative analysis skills.
- Programming experience with Python, VBA, R, C++, or similar tools.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of insurance and financial concepts, including insurance products, valuation, ALM, derivatives, investment assets, statistics, optimization, and AI/ML.
- Understanding of insurance accounting and reporting frameworks, including US GAAP, IFRS, statutory accounting, and solvency reporting.
- Experience driving process improvement through automation, with the ability to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role
requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $97,400 - $129,800 . This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
