Senior Accountant ConsultantNOW CFO | Sacramento, CA$100,000-$120,000 Base Salary DOE | Full TimeLocal travel to client sites throughout the Sacramento marketYou'll work directly with client teams to tackle accounting challenges, improve processes, and bring clarity to their financials. Each engagement brings something different, with experienced Controller and CFO professionals available to collaborate and support your growth.
What You'll Do- Keep month-end and year-end close running smoothly through journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain accurate general ledgers and prepare financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Jump into AP, AR, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and other accounting needs.
- Clean up financial records, solve discrepancies, and make accounting processes more efficient.
- Work across accounting systems and support system improvements and implementations.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and collaborate with your NOW CFO team.
- Work at various client locations throughout the Sacramento market.
What You Bring- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least four years of progressive accounting experience, including Senior Accountant-level responsibilities.
- A strong foundation in U.S. GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Experience across multiple industries, preferably three or more. We work with many construction, manufacturing, and nonprofit clients, and welcome experience from other industries.
- Hands-on QuickBooks experience and proficiency in a mid-market accounting system, such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the confidence to ask questions and take ownership.
- The flexibility to learn new businesses, balance deadlines, and travel to client sites throughout the Sacramento market.
