Full Job Description
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team, reporting to the Accounting Manager.
This is a role for a builder. Our processes are still taking shape, so you'll do more than keep the close running: you'll help design how it works. You'll be hands-on in month-end close and financial reporting from day one, and you'll take a lead role in bringing our acquired businesses into one accounting function, with the chance to own that integration work. If you have solid experience behind you and get your energy from creating structure, improving processes, and leaving things better than you found them, this is the seat for you.
What You'll Do
Take a lead role in integrating recently acquired businesses into Iron Oak Energy's accounting processes and month-end close, with the opportunity to own this work.
Support month-end close, including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
Help build and strengthen our financial reporting processes and internal reporting structure.
Find and drive improvements to accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls as the department scales.
Partner with stakeholders across the business to analyze financial data and resolve accounting issues.
Support audit requests and help ensure the annual audit is completed on time.
Contribute to the work of preparing the company for an IPO.
Work closely with accounting leadership in a highly interactive, in-office environment.
What You Bring
3-5+ years of accounting experience; a public accounting audit background is preferred.
Prior industry experience is preferred.
CPA, or actively working toward CPA certification, preferred.
A builder's mindset: you're energized by creating processes and making existing ones work better.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the curiosity to keep learning.
Comfort working in a dynamic, evolving environment with limited existing structure.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and adapt as the business grows.
Team-oriented and collaborative, with a desire to work closely with leadership.
How You'll Work
Hybrid schedule: in-office Monday through Thursday, work from home on Fridays.
Fast-paced, high-growth environment shaped by recent mergers and acquisitions.
Significant visibility and day-to-day interaction with accounting leadership.
What We Offer
Competitive pay and real advancement opportunities as we grow
Excellent healthcare benefits: medical, vision, and dental
401(k) with company matching
