Full Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Accountant II based in Chicago. This will be a hybrid role.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
  • Document application of policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements
  • Draft standards to improve quality as well as active contribution in improving and implementing global operation cycles, processes and workflows as well as the implementation of global policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all IFRS, GAAP and Statutory closing and reporting tasks (e.g. annual report, reporting to regulatory authorities, NAIC reporting, other internal/external reporting requirements) related to own area of responsibility are accurate and timely on a global basis
  • Complete assigned postings, Journal Entries and Account reconciliations on a periodic basis. Reconcile and settle intercompany transactions within the affiliated company group
  • Coordination, transfer and reconciliation of data from interfaces of front-end systems
  • Take care of monthly legal entity close submission activities, including posting of accruals, deferred acquisition expenses and other accounting transactions
  • Manage relationship with 3rd parties (auditors, biz units, tax authorities, public authorities, etc.)
  • Assist internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports, research and other activities

What You'll Bring to the Role
  • 5-7 years experience in reinsurance, P&C insurance and / or asset management
  • 5-7 years experience in proven understanding of standard accounting (GAAP & IFRS) for insurance and reinsurance
  • 3-5 years experience in project and team work in an international and dynamic environment
  • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills to effectively analyze data and convey messages in a winning fashion. Big data automation capabilities (e.g. Alteryx, AI, Sap Analytics Cloud)
  • Understanding insurance financial statements and their performance measurement including drivers
  • Legal and Regulatory Framework: Comprehensive knowledge of local GAAP, IAS / IFRS, Regulatory, Tax and other relevant requirements (such as Allianz Accounting policies) wrt reporting, compliance and declaration.
  • AI Literacy: AI data analysis and workflow automation using applications like Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business degree
  • Locally recognized professional qualification related to Accounting (e.g. CPA, ACCA, etc.), if applicable.
  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is preferred.

US Applicants:

The annualized base pay range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 USD. The annual base salary range represents nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
