Senior Accountant (Government Contracting)
Location: Arlington, VA (Mostly Remote)
Our client is seeking a
Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional with
government contracting (GovCon) experience who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys working with complex accounting processes in a dynamic organization.
This position offers a
primarily remote work arrangement with occasional onsite presence in the Arlington, VA area as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Assist with government contract accounting and compliance requirements
- Ensure accuracy of financial records and adherence to accounting policies
- Support audits, financial statement preparation, and reporting requirements
- Analyze accounting data and identify process improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial and operational matters
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required
- Experience working in a government contracting environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with account reconciliations, month-end close, and general ledger accounting
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with the broader team
