ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and executing advanced accounting functions, such as financial statement analysis, month-end and year-end closings, financial audit, SOX compliance, and leading process improvement initiatives. This role provides guidance to junior members of the accounting team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Independently and confidently prepares and reviews a variety of financial transactions for completeness, accuracy, and conformity with accounting policies, GAAP, IFRS, company procedures, and any other applicable regulatory standards within a complex organizational/partnership structure.
  • Primarily review journal entries but will occasionally prepare journal entries, complete balance sheet reconciliations and other month-end close activities.
  • Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities.
  • Review and confirm consolidated financial statements for investors, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Inspect complex contracts for accounting requirements and ensure accounting entries and reports agree with applicable contracts, while recommending solutions for discrepancies.
  • Perform position-specific responsibilities for accounting and period close in a timely and accurate manner. Assigned tasks may include managing solar projects, holding companies and consolidations, preparing financials including ME and CF Statements
  • Be primary contact for recurring discussion during annual audits.
  • Collaborate and strengthen partnerships with teams and departments integral to the accounting and reporting function.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent years of experience.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Accountant. Industry knowledge or public accounting experience preferred.
    • Licensure/Certification: Certified Public Accountant
    • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
    • Skills/Attributes:
      • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
      • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to analyze complex data and situations to make decisions.
      • Exceptional organizational skills and time management.
      • Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines and projects.
