Full Job Description
What You Will Do:

We are looking for a full-time Senior Accountant to work in our Atlanta office. The Senior Accountant will report to our Accounting Manager and will be responsible for supporting the Company's accounting operations through general ledger activity, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, adaptable, and comfortable collaborating across departments to support accurate and consistent financial reporting across entities.

Responsibilities:

As a Sr. Accountant, your primary responsibilities in this role will be:
    • Manage day-to-day general accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
    • Prepare, review, and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
    • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
    • Support preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial analysis.
    • Manage accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, collections support, and account reconciliation.
    • Monitor aging reports and assist in resolving outstanding payables and receivables.
    • Collaborate with project accountants and assist with project financial support as needed.
    • Assist with project financial analysis, project closeout activities, and review project financial data for accuracy and completeness.
    • Prepare and book equity and acquisition transactions.
    • Assist with annual audit requests and preparation of supporting documentation.
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and established financial reporting procedures.
    • Assist the Accounting Manager with special projects, system implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Serve as a backup for critical accounting functions to ensure continuity of operations.
    • Serve as a technical accounting resource for team members and provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures.
    • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
    • Process pre- and post-payroll reconciliations; this role does not include payroll processing.
    • Support assigned accounting integration activities for acquisitions.
    • Process and reconcile benefit payments, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
    • Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.

What We Are Looking For:

Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the AEC industry.
    • Strong experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, year-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliation, and internal controls.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including pivot tables, lookup functions, formulas, and financial analysis.
    • Experience working with ERP/accounting systems required, such as Acumatica, Deltek Ajera, Deltek Vantagepoint, or similar accounting software.
    • CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting best practices.
    • Advanced proficiency in general ledger management, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
    • Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Ability to analyze financial data andidentifytrends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across departments.
    • Proficiencywith accounting and project management software; experience with Acumatica is a plus.
    • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, evolving business needs, andnew technologies.
    • Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
