Full Job Description
The role
We are looking for a Senior Account Lead reporting into our Managing Director as a trusted adviser to some of our most important clients as The Caliber Collective grows. You will bring account management and, more importantly, the judgement to counsel senior clients, challenge them when it counts and steer every campaign towards its wider purpose for the business. Much of this work sits on culturally pressing and thorny issues, where getting the tone right matters as much as the reach.
This is a chance to help define how we work. You will shape how we run accounts, play an active part in new business and work across Caliber, drawing on the audience insight of The News Movement and The Recount.
What you'll do
Act as a senior adviser to clients, often at C-suite level, shaping how they show up on social and when they should hold back.
Own the strategic direction of each account, keeping every campaign tied to what it needs to achieve for the client's reputation and business, with delivery in service of that goal.
Grow each account commercially: spot where a relationship can go further, shape new scopes of work and manage budgets and resourcing.
Build campaigns around corporate reputation and leadership profile, turning senior executives' positions into content that works on social platforms.
Run creator partnerships from brief to delivery: finding the right voices, shaping the work and keeping it on message.
Develop messaging and narrative frameworks, test them with real audiences and use the results to advise clients on what to say and how.
Steer how social works alongside clients' PR, advertising, media and in-house teams, so each part of the mix strengthens the whole campaign.
Guide clients through culturally pressing and contentious issues, drawing on a close read of culture and current affairs.
Help define how The Caliber Collective runs accounts, from process and reporting to the ways of working that will scale as we grow.
Coach and develop junior team members as the team expands.
Contribute to new business, from shaping pitches to presenting ideas in the room.
Collaborate across Caliber, bringing the editorial insight of The News Movement and The Recount into client work.
What you'll bring
Seven or more years in social, digital or corporate communications, with recent experience leading accounts at a senior level.
A record of acting as trusted counsel to senior clients, with the confidence to challenge a brief and the judgement to know when to.
A background in the corporate space, handling reputation, issues or leadership profile for organisations and their executives.
A track record of running C-suite campaigns on social across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
Commercial instinct, shown through growing existing accounts and helping to win new business.
Hands-on experience working with creators.
Confidence developing messaging and testing narratives with audiences.
Experience working across a mix of agencies and disciplines, and the ability to bring them together around a shared goal.
Calm, sound judgement on sensitive and divisive topics.
Nice to have
Agency experience, particularly in corporate affairs or integrated PR.
Experience in or alongside a newsroom or digital media brand and or in regulated sectors such as financial services or healthcare.
Confidence with paid social and social listening tools.
A background in marketing or PR, though this is helpful rather than essential.
What we offer
Five months' paid family leave at 90% of your salary, regardless of gender or whether you're the primary or secondary caregiver.
Comprehensive health insurance through UnitedHealthcare, with 90% of the cost covered for employees and their dependents.
After one year's service, access to up to $5,000 in fertility and family-planning support whether you're looking to grow your family or make a different choice.
Access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
24 days' paid time off each year.
Unlimited sick leave, so you can take the time you need when you're unwell.
NOMAD week: work from anywhere for one week each year.
The option to request up to two additional weeks of unpaid leave, subject to approval.
